(long shot, I know) Star Trek purses? I've looked everywhere and can't find any decent ones. by hellowrenin startrek

If you find someplace, link it on this subreddit, I would totally buy one if it was high quality.

Ensign T'Noir. Female Romulan helmsman. A little... um... is bonkers a real word? Very random, tends to leave conversations at random, chase imaginary flies and spin around in circles for no reason.

Wut?

keeping cash for the week and leaving the debit card at home?? by dugfunnein Frugal

Not at all! I have been exactly where you are. It is so much harder to keep track of money when you don't have enough of it!

keeping cash for the week and leaving the debit card at home?? by dugfunnein Frugal

[–]msfayzer 0 points1 point ago

I can't carry cash. I am hyper aware of my bank account (online monitoring, ect) so swiping my debit card is a bit painful for me because I know that number will be lower next time I log in. Cash though, it is untrackable and is already gone from my account. The result is I spend it way faster and on stupid stuff. Paying with cash doesn't feel like actually spending money to me.

Everyone is different though.

Maybe OP is from Vermont. My coworker is from there and will sometimes say "wicked" in place of "awesome."

You know what, I think we should take the title to mean that anyway.

I have heard the college degree requirement but never 25 years of age. I don't know much about teaching English abroad though.

Try /r/IWantOut , They might know more about the requirements and/or alternate pathways to live in China.

Has your perception of a Star Trek series changed after you've watched it again (e.g. on reruns or DVD)? by UESPA_Sputnikin startrek

[–]msfayzer 1 point2 points ago

Yes and no. When Enterprise aired, I gave up about two episodes in. I hated T'Pol because a Vulcan being sexy makes no sense. Everything about it rubbed me the wrong way.

I forced myself to watch it on Netflix recently and I have a much kinder opinion about it now. I did enjoy it but T'Pol still made me crazy, but for very different reasons. It bothers me that the female characters were more valued for their sex appeal than what they could bring to the table. I now see Enterprise as a missed opportunity. There was some good, and a lot of bad. Regardless it was fun to watch I suppose.

Are there any Trek girls out there? by reachforthestars96in startrek

[–]msfayzer 0 points1 point ago

Ok, sure why not.

I am a lady trekkie. I grew up watching DS9 and Voyager as they aired and TNG in syndication (perhaps on air too, I was too young to remember.) I was obsessed with Quark and Data as a kid. My current obsession rests with basically any Cardassian characters. I actually wrote a paper on Cardassians for a popular culture blog recently so I am sure that says something about me.

I am proud to say that I come from a long line of Trek fans. My Grandfather and my Mom watched TOS during its original airing (and participated in both letter writing campaigns). My Mom isn't nearly as into it now though. My Dad really got me into it. Star Trek is really a family thing for us. My Dad and I watched Voyager get lost and come home together.

I really think there are a whole lot more of us ladies than people think.

I am not that far really but I plateaued like crazy a few weeks ago. That is part of why I took my break, it was getting too frustrating. Once I start up again, I am staying away from the scale for at least a month.

Are There Any Episodes Where Away Teams Explore Class M Moon? by hoganmanin startrek

[–]msfayzer 12 points13 points ago

There is a DS9 episode where Kira goes to one of Bajor's moons to try to get evacuate some guy who won't leave. That moon was clearly class M.

Week 20: Rice - Barberton, Ohio Hot Sauce by msfayzerin 52weeksofcooking

[–]msfayzer[S] 0 points1 point ago

I just moved away from Northeast Ohio so in honor of my former home, I made a local favorite, Barberton hot sauce. This is normally eaten as a side with Barberton style fried chicken, cole slaw and fries though I am more of a classic dark, double hot sauce and cottage cheese kind of gal.

Barberton Hot Sauce Recipe

2 onions, chopped

1 fresh hot pepper, sliced

2 tbsp. butter

paprika

2 one-pound cans stewed tomatoes

1/2 cup uncooked, long-grain rice

salt & pepper

Directions

Brown onions and pepper in butter. Add paprika to taste. Process tomatoes briefly in a blender. Add tomatoes, rice, salt and pepper to onion mixture. Cover and cook until rice is tender, about 45 minutes, adding additional water if necessary. Remove pepper slices before serving.

I think most countries are shittiest to their own residents. When I go to Iceland, it is always super easy for me but I have been told that Icelandic citizens are frequently questioned.

Getting back into the US though, ugh, such a pain.
