Anybody here plays with their hands? As in their thumb as a pick, not full out fingerstyle? by moonlitmistin Guitar

Woah he does and he is incredible. I wish I could ask him questions.

Actually, that's a lot of the reason why I started. We live in a very small house, and the slightest guitar noise is pretty loud. The only problem with practicing quiet all the time, was performing normally. Your tone suffers from the lack of force. So I had to spend a good time correcting that, and I'm still working on it.

Nice. Back of the nail of your first finger? I hardly use my first finger at all, unless fingerpicking. haha. Can you describe that in more detail please?

Oh I'd use one of those, but I tried it once, and it was uncomfortable and just felt very unnatural. Is that common, or is it a bad choice of thumbpick?

Hey r/guitar, any of you know any free software that would let me slow music down without changing pitch? For transcription purposes. by moonlitmistin Guitar

[–]moonlitmist[S] 0 points1 point ago

Audacity does that? For me it changes the pitch as well. I think I'm doing it wrong

How do I use the Neapolitan Sixth? by moonlitmistin musictheory

[–]moonlitmist[S] 0 points1 point ago*

Can you give an example of its use in minor key? As in progression-wise? I'm lost on if, in a minor key, it takes the same position as it's relative major:

I-(bII)-ii (major)
i-ii*-III-(bIV) (minor)

or whether it becomes a Major chord formed off the flattened second degree of the scale:

i-(bII)-ii*

Thanks, I know Roman Numeral Analysis, Construction, as in where it comes from, but function, not so much. But that's a great explanation and it makes sense.
