I have this same issue, and same motherboard. I've done a lot to check this out. I have a 7200rpm WD black caviar drive not an ssd. Bios time is 50ish seconds most times.

I have marvell controller enabled though not sure if I should be disabling that since nothing is using it.. But you'll understand why i mention this after the next part.

So my entire bios boot process that is shown on the screen: Bios image, mobo/processor/ram test bios image, marvell controller check(finds nothing, but havent done research into checking if enabling it then disabling can do damage) bios image, raid check (i have the mobo doing raid) bios image, boot into windows AHCI mode set. No overclocking atm.

The only thing we have in common is having a GTX 570. I have a superclocked evga card though. I can't see this having a real effect though?

This only works for rogers, i've tested extensively(in the past). It works rogers to anything but not anything to anything. Hope that made sense.

Also install Malware bytes so that when there is a virus avira hasn't caught or can't remove you can tell him to run that program before you have to take a look at the comp.

Make his log on non-administrator. Make him log into another account to install anything. This way if he clicks on something on the net he won't have any rights to install it.
