ladies, what scents for a guy.

NO FRAGRANCE.
Girls are attracted to men's natural smells. This has been scientifically verified again and again. Don't buy the crap that you need fragrance to attract the opposite sex.
Fine. Here. Saydrah AMA. It couldn't get much worse, so whatever.

Google crawlers follow server-side redirects, so I'm afraid your point is meaningless.
I need your help for a romantic weekend in Seattle.

Amen to Snoqualmie Falls idea.
Suggestion: get a room for the night at the Salish Lodge. Check in early the day prior, and if it's nice, hike down to the bottom of the falls with a picnic basket. Climb down to the rocks, putter around, and eat. It's extremely romantic. You could propose here. If it's not a nice day, the spa is amazing.
Alternately, the restaurant in the Salish Lodge is AMAZING. You could propose here. Also, the lookout over the falls is beautiful.
To celebrate afterwards, the hotel offers several romance packages, or you could drive a few blocks down the street to the Snoqualmie Casino where they have a fun club, some really nice restaurants, and some good entertainment.
Dear Reddit, what should I do next with my company? (not spam, I swear!)
For a product such as yours, you really need to stop thinking about consumer demand and work on making big bizdev deals to get your product into stores.
My recommendation would be to sniff around to find a consultant or sales rep that specializes in pushing product to big grocery chains. These people are worth their weight in gold. They have the right contacts, they know what buttons to push, they know how to frame your product in terms the grocery chains want to hear.
Hire one of these people, and spend every last ounce of your energy working on these bizdev deals. This is the way you will scale up the most rapidly.

Why would you say that? You could have said that about Saydrah before she was exposed. Who is to say that any of the other mods can be trusted?
mjsolaro -9 points-8 points-7 points 9 days ago[-]
Yes, because I'm sure her job responsibilities have her counseling people at 2am and on weekends... </sarcasm>
mjsolaro 5 points6 points7 points 9 days ago[-]
I'm not sure you've read the other side of the story. The mods of /r/pics agree that this guy was using some shady redirects at the time of his posting that got him banned. Not because of his lack of using imgur.
This was a month ago. He could have easily changed the content under this link to protect himself.
mjsolaro 15 points16 points17 points 9 days ago[-]
Saydrah has invested an enormous amount of time and energy supporting other women on reddit, myself included. She has friends there.
mjsolaro 3 points4 points5 points 9 days ago[-]
Ok, so she gets caught abusing her mod power in other subreddits to prevent spammer competition by banning anyone she thinks could be a spammer. This means she should still be a mod in any subreddit why?
This is not an accurate depiction of what is going on. People are concerned that she may be abusing her power due the conflict of interest, but there is no actual evidence that this has taken place.
In fact, to the contrary, most of her fellow mods (noteworthy redditors of influence) praise her moderation skills.
mjsolaro 10 points11 points12 points 9 days ago[-]
Look over at the sidebar of this reddit. He is a mod here, as well as many other subreddits.
Two-X, Do you think there's any truth to this?
mjsolaro 1 point2 points3 points 9 days ago[-]
I went through a phase in college when I first discovered that I had power over boys. I was surprised by the power and I used it for nefarious purposes. Then I realized what I was doing was wrong and grew the fuck up.
I think anybody who realizes they have any sort of power over others probably falls into the same trap.
Are we going to demand full disclosure on all of the occupations of all of our mods to make sure that they are impartial as well?
mjsolaro 39 points40 points41 points 9 days ago[-]
Why not let Saydrah continue as a mod in self post reddits like askreddit and relationship_advice? This is where her greatest contributions have been to the reddit community, and she cannot use the self-posted reddits for any nefarious purposes (not that I claim she was to begin with).

Robingallup was rehosting pics on his site with ads, and when I asked him to use imgur or direct links instead, he used a sneaky URL redirect to make it look like he'd submitted a direct link when it was really a page with ads. He sent me a lot of angry messages after I got mad at him for being deceptive, so I'm not surprised he's taking this as an opportunity to get a pound of flesh back.
This is a pretty typical action a mod would take. Using redirects is not really a kosher thing to do. I'm sure other mods would agree.
Are you telling me that you have never once submitted a link to your, your family's, or your friend's vanity project? Who on reddit isn't guilty of this?
Saydrah does an excellent job of posting a wide variety of content, self content, helpful and witty comments, and content from her company that falls within reddit's spam guidelines. Nor is there any evidence that she has abused her power as a mod.
If we were evaluating Saydrah's case on a smaller scale on the /r/reportthespammers subreddit, we would definitely give her a pass because of the well-balanced set of contributions that she makes. She meets our criteria for inclusion.
I understand that her influence might give people pause, but this isn't exactly a black and white case.

This isn't the kind of situation you do a democratic vote on. Our justice system uses juries for a reason -- to avoid the crazed lynch-mob mentality when the people don't actually have all of the information.
Let Saydrah have a trial by jury. Let the mods and admins present raw data and prove their cases. And let it be decided by a small, thoughtful panel who can hear everything out and make an informed decision.

If I was trying to describe you or karmanaut or MMM or any other well-known redditor to a digg user, I would use the same terminology.
mjsolaro -3 points-2 points-1 points 9 days ago[-]
There is ZERO evidence that Saydrah has ever abused her mod powers.
So her job is to find the best content AC has and get it to reddit. She isn't paid for traffic. She's paid to find the best shit. Which is the criteria for submitting things to reddit in the first place, right?
Amen. Somehow if we found out that karmanaut was making some cash off his postings, I'm not sure that we would have the same problems with him. I think people have been looking for a reason to take Saydrah down for a while because she is outspoken on controversial issues.
mjsolaro -4 points-3 points-2 points 9 days ago[-]
Citation needed. How do we know that bringing hits to AC is Saydrah's job description?

mjsolaro 7 points8 points9 points 16 days ago[-]
Dude, the IRS doesn't invent the tax code in a vacuum. They are given guidelines by political leadership. Who ultimately approve the tax code. So do you suggest the political leadership is evil? And who votes the political leadership into office? We do. So then, are you suggesting that the entire US population is evil?
