I use the gorillapod focus and I love it, it pretty much wraps around anything and has very sturdy feel to it. Ive also used it as a make shift shoulder mount haha for some video stuff but it serves best as a versatile tripod

Yes however i was SUPER LUCKY and found someone selling my camera and lens on craigslist so with the help of my local PD I was able to set up a lil sting and get it back! lost the bag though along with some accessories and a kindle but hey the camera was the biggie.

as for me with photography I would still consider myself a newb to photography, Ive been into it as a hobby for about 2 years and I work full time as a news videographer. As a beginner though I used to be pretty focused on "what should I get next?" and would spend alot of time researching all sortsa stuff, however I forced myself to get away from that mindset and as I go I find myself wishing "hmm i wish this was wider" or "damn Id like to do a longer exposure here" and with that I start to compile what gear I should get next.

I used to love the level in goldeneye where you blow up the gas tanks, if you waited to blow them up then an endless supply of baddies would keep coming I would sit in the hallway and see how many I could kill in as many ways as I could think up.

Also LOVE the chopper / falling skyscraper level in uncharted 2. Absolutely blew me away at the time and still gets my blood going on play throughs

I just got a thinktank retrospective 10 which im liking, its a messenger style however, if you want a backpack, Ive also owned the kata 3n1 which was pretty perfect as a small camera sling bag (also doubles as a backpack) however it was stolen on me :(.

As far as all the other accessories you can get however, I would really just go out and shoot with what you have, it will give you an idea of what you find yourself wanting to do, and what you might be lacking in order to do it. Such as wanting a ND filter if you find yourself wanting to do cooler water shots or longer exposures, or a remote shutter for time lapses.

the more you dabble the more youll get an idea of what you want!

I would also recommend thinking about picking up some photography books (ones with photos in them not teaching ones). Ive found it was very beneficial to me and still is to check out other photographers work and really look at the pictures and try to figure out why exactly I like them. Of course you can do this on a computer but Ive found having the actual larger print book in my lap is much nicer.

Recently got the tamron 17-50 2.8 for about 400 as a walkaround lens, so far its serving me pretty well. I also use it for video occasionally and what I like about it is that I can get both wide establishing room shots and zoom up to 50mm if I want to isolate something for a more artsy farsty shotsy. However if I had the money Id probably grab a tokina as people here are recommending, it looks to be a rather sexy lens

Limbo is pretty fun and easy to digest. It's much more subdued than portal or bastion and the story telling isn't as overt but it is a unique experience. It also really unnerves me for reasons I'm not entirely sure of

Hah yea I had the same thought process. I was so tempted to go control or synthesis but I was like "no, im sticking to my guns, reapers are going down". So If IT turns out to be true, it really was such a brilliant stroke to make the player question their own decisions so deeply and even go down the same path as the villains they've thwarted in the past two games.
