No, I wouldn't say you are weird. In my experience (as far as drugs go, not including alcohol) most people that dabble with them stems from the people they hang out with, self-esteem issues, or just plain curiosity. I have found that most people won't go out of their way to locate a drug dealer and buy the drug(s), just to try them, usually it's because a friend makes it convenient for you to try it/them.

As far as alcohol goes, most people tend to get wasted in social environments where it is more acceptable, i.e. college bars/parties, not just hanging out with a couple buddies watching television. Also, some people have problems with addiction in their family, which could lead to going overboard with their drinking.

If you feel like you don't need to take part in these activities such as consuming a lot of alcohol, or experimenting with drugs, to have a better time, then good for you. I don't see a reason why you would want to change that other than having a better understanding of the effects of taking mind altering substances and/or being able to relate to others that do.

If you do decide to dabble with these substances, be careful. Just remember, everything in moderation.
