Higginbotham set for Rebels move by Slatts02in rugbyunion

[–]meatsack 0 points1 point ago

Yup, but Gill is a pure 7, Higgers is an international 6/8. Reds will survive, but it definitely sucks. Especially since this seems to be mainly due to the Aus only salary cap. Reds could afford him otherwise...

What are some great matches/rivalries? by Amerikaiin rugbyunion

The classic Wallaby v ABs match you saw was probably the 2000 Bledisloe match in Sydney. Though thats more than 8 years ago now....

User agent stylesheet: Opera puts an unwanted 8px-border around the "body" of my Wordpress websites...?? by comfyredin operabrowser

[–]meatsack 0 points1 point ago

hmmm... shouldn't need the !important. And it worked in my Dragonfly, but I'm using Opera Next so it might be a bug with Opera thats been fixed in the next version.

User agent stylesheet: Opera puts an unwanted 8px-border around the "body" of my Wordpress websites...?? by comfyredin operabrowser

[–]meatsack 0 points1 point ago

User agent stylesheets are not Opera specific, and are just there to make unstyled html readable by adding default margins to various elements. For example it will add top/bottom margins to <p> tags and left margins to list elements. The size of these margins vary between the browsers so you're best off reading up on "Reset CSS". Eric Meyers article explains it a bit better than I.

TLDR; add "margin:0" to your body css :)

Was going to suggest flag after you clarified what you're using it for. Only problem with Flag is that you won't be able to collect quantities and attributes for the items (not sure what your items are so this might not be a problem).

Assuming you're making a store have you checked out the Commerce module? (http://drupal.org/project/commerce) If you're not using D7 you might have a look at ubercart or other cart module.

Rugby Sevens coming to the NFL network by offsideKiwiin rugbyunion

[–]meatsack 0 points1 point ago

ah right, was a bit confusing what they were actually announcing then. Is the HSBC world 7s on it's usual schedule next year or does the 7s world cup mess the season up? Maybe the re-scheduled season has the US leg in July? Otherwise, I'm with you, not sure what this is.

I haven't even used the forum module in D7. I do remember messing around with the D6 module, and you're right, it had some weirdly taxing SQL queries all through it. Not sure if they've been simplified.

Edit: I should mention that OA is actually a D6 distribution (at least it was last time I used it).

Seperate blog name, not based on user ID or username/realname, best approach? by shrike202in drupal

[–]meatsack 0 points1 point ago

I'd just add a couple fields to the user entity and then just create a blog template that displays those fields based on the author ID.

OpenAtrium will set you all up: http://openatrium.com/

Comes with blogs out of the box. Drupal core has forums but you may want to use the 'case tracker' as a replacement for forums as it allows you to notify particular people about a post/comment. Calendar is also already included and the shoutbox behaves a bit like live chat. There's some short videos on the site to get a feel for what it offers.

Ruggit, what are your favourite nicknames for players? by Kilen13in rugbyunion

Hyphenated last names are sometimes because their mother remarried. Not sure if this is what happened with AAC or SNK, but thats why they're called 'two dads'.

I think creep38 is objecting to just the bluntness of "Thought of as the greatest cricket player ever". Which is a little off for Bradman fans. I'd have no problem with:

"Though of as the greatest MODERN cricket player" or "Thought of as ONE OF the greatest cricket playerS ever"

I don't think there's been anything close to a consensus on who is the greatest between Tendulkar and Bradman.

with zynga's track record, I hope some indie developer makes a 'homage' to 'draw something'. Then people who like playing have an alternative.

which version of Drupal? In D6 there was a module called fivestarextra. I haven't used fivestars in D7 yet, but some quick reading from the issue queue seems like you should be able to use it straight up.

BOOM. Sit the fuck down. by big_donin videos

[–]meatsack 3 points4 points ago

yeah, but the 7s tour has 16 teams that all go to the same stadium. Then they just play games back to back to back. So the crowd gets entertained for 6 or so hours.

BOOM. Sit the fuck down. by big_donin videos

[–]meatsack 0 points1 point ago

Constant back and forth. Once tackled, the player places the ball in a direction and releases it. Usually the attacking team will retain possession and carry on but the defending team can contend for it.

Its kind of complex, you just have to watch more games to get the feel for it, and know different refs will have different interpretations of the rules.

They also pick at least one player who hasn't played international rugby before. Another nice touch is that the players usually wear the socks of their local club.
