Overall I think that is pretty awesome, but I can't believe Joe Hart missed even an honorable mention... and as a biased City fan I would start Silva over Ozil, as much as I love Ozil.

The Premier League's Other Table by RhettBomarGotPaidin soccer

Your bit about money that won't make money is really still about making money, but I see what you are getting at ;-). Think day of Thanksgiving for most electronic retailers - it is more about gaining market share in the long run than making money that specific day. That being said with changes in the economy this past year they pushed harder to try and remain profitable that day, but I digress. I can agree that City will be in very much trouble is Mansour decides he is not having fun owning a football club because they most certainly costing much more money then they are making. The only saving grace would be if we started to see a significant increases in revenue/drops in costs. If City was a branch of GE they would have closed it down long ago.

Good debt assumes that you will get some sort of ROI. Taking on loans and putting money into a project in business is only done when you think you are going to make more than you spent. Is there a chance the Mansour could get his money back.... maybe, but I doubt that he really cares. His personal wealth is off the charts.

I guess my point is, that there is good debt (the kind you will end up making money from) and bad debt (the kind that yields no return). So you are correct, you just left some stuff out.

Hey! This season put City's GD positive! Hurrah! That is almost as exciting as winning the league in stunning fashion in the last 4 minutes of a game!

I live in Omaha, but am not from NE. Huskers fans are a prime example of how someone can truly HATE another team.

As someone living in the US I can not tell you how much the teams website makes me feel like I can still be close to the team, definitely consider myself lucky every time I watch on of their vids.

Go to the website and listen to what they all say about the club and the fans and what it means before you say that not a single man cares about the team. Richards and Hart alone are stand out examples. mcfc.co.uk

Eh, I think he was just staying out of the way. Forgive me for being assumptive but your crest tells me no matter what he did it would have been wrong to you.

Introducing Old Economy Steven...you know, your dad. by NewNormalin AdviceAnimals

I think it is impossible to lump all of the unemployed into one group. Some people are looking for a job and strugglign to find it, but there are others who are just lazy and would rather complain about thier situation that do something about it. As someone who works in employment at a company that hires people with no experience every week (call center), I can say that people come through trianing that I hear talking about how they have no money and are waiting on government support for gas or food or whatever it may be. Then they just stop showing up. No reason given, no call made to say why they are ending their employment, they just stop. We have people who make over 40k a year on the phones at my company and these people who complain non-stop about money troubles walk away because they are too good for the job or they don't like it. I just wish I could get into their heads regarding that decision. (Sorry for any errors, posted in a rush.)

City and Nike announce new partnership by malekovin soccer

[–]mcityftw 1 point2 points ago

This is what I am worried about. I love my Umbro City kits. On the bright side, as a fan in the US the Nike brand should make it easier to get City gear. i was talking to a soccer shop owner about it and he said it was just hard to get things from Umbro. So maybe there will be some up side?

True, they keep so many birds in such a small space I think they just assume they will all get sick... but then the "smart" chicken is 2x the price, which is just absurd.
