I don't remember my specific stats off the top of my head (at work right now), but I have ~14k health and 1k dps at level 46--so nothing special. I'm not sure of my other numbers. You want to focus on getting a big health pool ahead of damage, as Blood Funnel and Revenge work on % of total HP (so you essentially get more bang for your buck heal wise if you have a lot of HP). Also by focusing on vitality you'll get a ton of bonus armor with the 'Nerves of Steel' passive. I ended up dropping my 2 hander for a good 1 hander & shield that dropped for me and the build is still working just fine.

I logged off last night when I kept wiping on a group of Vampiric & Molten elites. The affixes I find hardest to deal with are frozen, fire chains, molten, poison, vampiric and shielded but I think this is pretty standard for most Barbs. With certain affix types you have to change up your build. For molten/poison baddies I think Seismic Slam with added knockback (drop WW for this) is good and I would switch earthquake for Call of the Ancients. For frozen, you need maneuverability to stay away from the ice balls. Don't be afraid to change it up if you get stuck on a certain pack of Elites.

Also, Merciless Assault is practically mandatory for me as I rely heavily on it for picking up globes. My general strategy is to try and clump up as many enemies as possible, charge through them drop my shout and keep charging/revenging as much as possible. When revenge & charge are both on CD I'll use WW.

100% mental. Slow down when you are outside and focus on your form.

Oh yeah? I lag so bad I get disconnected FREQUENTLY. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Why the problem is the death penalty by ProcrastinatingPHDin Diablo

[–]mast3rcylind3r -3 points-2 points ago

But gold is constantly created in the game... it would make more sense in my mind if Blizzard was responsible for buying/selling gold to players and actually destroyed/banked gold that they bought. I think this would keep inflation in check, but obviously would be somewhat risky for blizzard, as they would be heavily invested in the gold/currency conversions.

[Barbarian] Armor/Build Tips for Level 60 by schmevanschmanleyin Diablo3Strategy

Not with Mountains Call rune (the best rune for Earthquake IMO).

Grim Harvest definitely doesn't stack, also the CD is such that you could never get it to do so when soloing.

True, but I like the lower cooldown on Earthquake and the 0 fury cost. If you Whirlwind and blow through all of your fury and are about to get owned you can still drop an earthquake free of charge. Also earthquake does 2000% damage to everything in the radius, instead of Wrath which is target based.

The AH makes Blacksmithing pointless. by opallixin Diablo

[–]mast3rcylind3r 3 points4 points ago

This is how I'm playing at the moment. I sell good blue/rare drops that I can't use on the AH. I vendor shitty blues and salvage shitty rares. I'm trying to get my BS to max level as soon as possible so that by the time I'm messing around at lvl 60 I can occasionally craft good level 60 gear. The items made by the blacksmith are so much cheaper than buying them on the AH, that even if I don't make something that I can use hopefully I can turn around and sell it for a hefty profit. Besides, what else am I going to spend my gold on anyways--I'm already stomping my way through Nightmare with +MF gear and runes so why not upgrade my Blacksmith who has the potential to be very useful later on.

who's right? (auction house prices) by aeoliantin Diablo

[–]mast3rcylind3r 1 point2 points ago

Inflation. Economics 101. As more gold is found prices increase as gold has less inherent value. The most likely option is that prices of mediocre items will fall while perfectly rolled ones will skyrocket.

How is Kripp doing this? [Possible Spoiler] by whatisitbroin Diablo

Blizz had said many many times that there is no "in combat" vs "out of combat" mechanic in this game. I'm pretty sure that your solution isn't as easy as it seems.

Is there a way to save your talent builds and switch between them quickly? by namenamenamein Diablo

[–]mast3rcylind3r 2 points3 points ago

They should absolutely do this. Take a page out of CoDs book and allow people to make like 5 builds per class that you can switch to and from easily I'm the game menu.

An idea for guaranteeing a challenge in completing the harder difficulties. by staffellin Diablo

[–]mast3rcylind3r 0 points1 point ago

They never said it was impossible, just very difficult. Which it is. I don't really see any issues with how hard it is right now. The only change I would make would be banning players from teleporting to each other in inferno only.

Yeah, I beat Act 4 in about 45 minutes. Took me ~13 hours for the rest of normal.

IDK, I'm pretty amazed that there is a group of 60 HCs running around right now. If they've made it this far I don't see what's stopping them in inferno.

Why not sub-out superstition for Beserker rage? You don't even need the fury and 25% more damage is amazing.

Skeleton King goes down on Inferno mode! by StinkyMilkmanin Diablo

[–]mast3rcylind3r 5 points6 points ago

True, but they've likely practiced killing the skeleton king tons of time in beta, and he is the easiest boss I've encountered by far. It was also an 8 minute fight, and hits were almost 1 shotting them.

All things barbarian.. by Amchristophein Diablo

[–]mast3rcylind3r 3 points4 points ago

I posted this in another thread, but I definitely want to hear what other people are thinking so I'll repost.

Random musings in no particular order (I'm lvl 21, and have solo'd everything so far):

1) Lots of skill/rune combos have good synergy, but a lot also overlap in usefulness.

2) Leap/Charging into a huge pack of mobs and groundstoping/revenging/rending them is awesome. With the vampiric rune on rend combo'd with iron impact, revenge, and the groundstomp rune that pulls targets in you can basically own any group of normal mobs. I'm not sure if this strategy will work in later difficulties or if you'll need to combo it with something like ignore pain. One downside to this build is that you won't have room for many other skills/abilities and is a completely 1 sided play style.

3) Weapon throw is good, but I can't figure out any way to really use it in any of my builds. It costs almost no fury so you can spam the hell out of it--I can't wait to get the stun rune for it. Also, side note, it really helps to have force stand still bound to something like space or shift when using this skill. SPOILER: I found weapon throw a pretty good skill to use on the flying bug things outside of Caldeum

4) Ancient spear with grappling hooks is a great way to aggro/pull mobs in a more controlled way than leap attack.

5) Whirlwind is awesome, it does a ton of damage, and you can use it to maneuver towards health globes. I think blood funnel is going to be a must-have rune at higher levels if you plan on using WW, but i haven't unlocked it yet.

6) Since I'm not even done with normal, I've focused 100% on damage output and not really on deaths/survivability. Not sure if this is a good strategy, as I've died a fair number of times but I want to experiment in Normal before things get too tough.

7) Last night before I logged, I had both Cleave and Frenzy as my mouse skills. It seemed pretty powerful as the Frenzy stacks add up fast and will drastically increase the speed of your cleaves once you get to 5 stacks. It's also nice having 1 single target and 1 multiple target attack on the mouse button. I can't tell if cleaved runed with rupture or reaping swing is better.

8) Revenge might be the best class skill. I'm trying to think of a build where it would be good/viable to not have it and am coming up short...

9) I don't know what I'm supposed to do with sprint--might be good for boss fights?

10) Seismic slam is really awesome if you can Line 'em up! (SC2 Shout out), but I'm having a hard time working it into any of my builds as hammer of the ancients and whirlwind seem just as good if not better for most situations. That being said, dropping like 3 slams into a long row of baddies is so satisfying, also it can go through walls. It's amazing vs Waller affix mobs, because of the natural stacking and the ability to go through walls.

11) I haven't tried using a shield yet, as I haven't found any that are good and am worried that my damage output will be too low if I do use one.

12) 2-hand mighty weapons look frigggin sexy.

13) If you get surrounded and don't have a large AoE and/or fury you are going to die.

14) Jailor mobs are tough if you don't have Ancient Spear or Weapon Throw.

15) If you drop an earthquake, everything in it will die (except bosses etc.)

16) The smash rune for Hammer of the Ancients is AMAZING for killing bosses, and you can spam it. I think having this + weapon throw (probably with mighty throw or throwing hammer) will be great for later boss difficulties.

17) Having an AoE lifesteal is pretty much mandatory.

18) Furious charge feels like an overall better skill than leap attack. I'll be excited for the merciless assault rune, as it only takes 5 enemies to proc another instant charge.
