What are some seemingly weird, but delicious food combinations that you like? by tummyboxin AskReddit

Gotta love that popcorn with maple syrup

Reddit. Today, I asked out a girl who people said I had no chance with. In fact, I never thought I had a chance. But she said yes, and this is one of the happier moments of my life. Reddit, what is one of those times that you felt like the "underdog", and come out the "victor"? by BeAztyin AskReddit

[–]malirose 0 points1 point ago

How did you ask her? And a few weeks ago, I went to Block Island with my older cousins to help fix up their grandparents' BI house. While we were there, their grandparents, and their scumbag, no-good uncle was their as well. Let's call him Mark. Now Mark had no job, was like 50+ and still lived with his parents, was fat, filthy, had the mindset of a child and was jobless. Me and my cousins do not get along with Mark. Regardless, BI is a small place, so one night after a long day of work me and my cousins go to a local bar to eat and chill (I'm 16, but I was there to just eat, enjoy bar atmosphere and to give my cousins there late night ride home) After about an hour of relaxing, Mark shows up. He being the cocky boot scum he is, goes up to me and challenges me to a game of pool. And he didn't just challenge me to a game of pool. Imagine the scummiest, grossest way to be challenged to play a game of pool, and thats how I was challenged. He challenged me only to make himself look better, and I say this because I have no doubt in my mind that he wastes his parents money on gambling on pool games, and that he was probably quite good. I decide, what the hell, free game of pool and so what if I lose. We go to play, and after a few turns back and forth, I was obviously outclassed. He had more balls in than I do, and to make it ANY more infuriating, he was getting all his balls in a douchebaggy way. Like calling all of his shots, and playing like his missed shots were on purpose. Then, the holy goddess of luck smiled upon me, and flashed her tits. I made one shot, two shots, 3 shots before missing. The smile on Mark's face dropped. However Mark was still winning, but my sudden come back would have been disconcerting to him, if he knew what it had meant. He misses his next shot. Lo and behold, I make 3 more before missing again. We had tied, and sweat was going down Mark's head. In my mind, I was already a winner for making Mark looking this bad, but I was still going for that win. He calls out his 8 ball pocket, and misses an easy shot. I was fucking skipping around the table at this point, and I went for my shot. Clouds opened up from above my head, and the goddess of luck guided me as my pool stick slid through my fingers and caused a chain reaction that concluded with the 8 ball going in the hole. As I skipped around the table in delight, scummy mark shuffled ashamedly out of the bar. Winning.

People of Reddit, what is/are something(s) that you know you will regret for the rest of your life? by awkward_peachin AskReddit

Both of my parents are deaf. AMA by keithfinin IAmA

Thanks for the AMA, I actually did one on this subject a couple of months ago. Firstly, have you ever been to Koda camp, and if not, i suggest you check that shit out. Secondly, do you have any friends with deaf parents as well?

Opinions please, Reddit. Do you think my 'Uncle' Joe was just weird or possibly a serial killer? by DisturbedThrowawayin AskReddit

[–]malirose 0 points1 point ago

This is actually quite interesting. I would suggest asking any family who might have known him at least semi well, and find out what he was like. There are plenty of sources on line that have a common serial killer profile, and you could see if they match. At this point, there's no way of definitively knowing whether or not he was actually a serial killer, but even if he was, don't let it bother you very much. For me it would be an interesting fact to share with people, as opposed to something to stress about, especially because he was more distant family. As for what you do with it, if it would help you feel better, you could report it to the police or something. It wouldn't be a huge deal at this point, but reporting it may help you feel better morally.

Deaf people get really loud when they get in groups. Cause why would they give a fuck about being loud?

Deaf people give you a sign name, based on characteristics. Like, my name is Mali, and my sign name is an m, moved from side to side.

Its more of a case, of wanting to share a primary language and experience with your children. It mostly happens with the 5% of deaf people from large deaf families, and even then it doesn't really happen.

Nah, it wasn't too bad. Sometimes it makes it harder to relate with my parents, because I'm honestly more in the hearing culture. But it's not like I'm making a life changing choice. Both worlds will always be there for us :D

Well, not all deafness is genetic, but there ARE deaf genes. Actually, 95% of deaf people are born to hearing parents. Really big deaf families like my dads are uncommon
