TROPHY CASE

MetroNorth-the most difficult thing to do on a bike in New York. by bwilliams18in NYCbike

[–]machinefist 0 points1 point ago

I've never had a problem taking my bike on the train, even during rush hour, or without a permit. I don't really understand how you could see it as difficult.

I'd consider it if I sell my Hotrod, but I play way more demo than Engie. Feel free to throw me a friend request and I'll be in touch if the afro goes anywhere.

My group uses lego minifigs when we break out a battle mat... they've worked out great for us. Sit them down on their asses if you've got a ton of stuff in the fight though; they like to fall over.

Met this guy a few weeks ago about thirty miles north of NYC by machinefistin whatsthisbug

Oh, that's a shame. I thought he was pretty cool looking, it's a shame he's invasive.

Forgot to mention that he was a little bit larger than the diameter of a quarter. I would have put something next to him for reference but he was hanging out on a wall and looked pretty comfortable there.

Cornish Estate in Cold Spring, NY. Anything similiar near NYC? by Brian0101001in nyc

[–]machinefist 0 points1 point ago

The Cornish Estate is amazing. I could be mixing it up with something else, but I think that it's technically a part of Breakneck Ridge. Either way, I'm hoping to get back up there myself in the next couple of weeks.

Buckout Road in White Plains/ West Harrison was pretty rad, but unfortunately a lot of the cooler stuff has been torn down or lost to real estate development. Not sure what's up there as it's been years since I visited though.

There's a park in Rockland (I think Nyack; certainly the southern part of the county) that has a WWI era firing range compound type of thing... it's absolutely amazing. It's several tunnels, most of which are in concrete structures that run above ground, and most are very easy to get into. I can call the buddy I went up there with tomorrow and see if he recalls the name, and possibly a few other spots that we've hit.

Any way you can throw Pelham Bay in there? We're a neighborhood too!

Finally had the chance to get out of the City for some fresh air... (Breakneck Ridge - Only an hour away on the Metro North!) by macks4386in nyc

Haha I don't think I'd be too interested in Cold Spring in that context. I've gone into the town with my fiancee and just sort of wandered down their main strip (one street on a hill) and checked out some of the little shops and such. She freaked out over a store entirely devoted to cat related stuff haha.

It's not terribly difficult; I was an out of shape, pack and a half a day smoker the first time I went there, but there are a few parts of the hike that would make taking a child a bad idea... some steep gravel paths and such. It's definitely worth the trip if you can find a babysitter though, and try to check out the town of Cold Spring while you're up there. It's an absolutely gorgeous little country village type of thing.

Well played. Looks like I'm going to have to have a talk with her tonight.

These guys like to hang out in my tub (in NYC) as well. Rude of them, but luckily for them I think they're cute as hell. My fiancee, on the other hand... not so much.

I was actually thinking about DOTA2 invites. I see they're at roughly four keys right now, so I was thinking about buying one or two and sitting on them, but I'm a bit nervous about Valve starting to shit out invites pretty rapdily and tanking the market. I may go grab one now and see what happens though.

I'm kind of trying to stay away from the real money end of things, aside from occasionally buying keys to pop crates, but that's more of a lottery ticket than an investment. Sorry if I'm coming off as contrary to all of the suggestions that have been posted.

My completed set goal is a long term one... I want an unusual for each class. Luckily I am fond of lower tier hats and I am either gonna try to go all ghosts or all hearts, haven't decided which yet. Basically what I'm looking for now is investing advice to keep moving toward my goal, instead of just sitting on a bunch of keys and metal.

Oh, I never stopped playing. As much as I enjoy the economy angle of things, the lighting people on fire and hitting them with an ax covered in barbed wire is still my favorite part of TF2. I've considered taking a break from the trading scene, but I don't think that I want to. It's a fun diversion and I've got nothing but time on my hands these days... I just haven't really hit a point where there's nothing in my backpack that I'm willing to let go of and is worth trying to trade.
