TROPHY CASE

Can I please have some input on wood care, perhaps focused on firearms? I ask as someone that was never offered shop class. by m6hurricanein woodworking

Ok, thanks. Again, this is good to know, just for the sake of knowing. I hadn't considered refinishing a replacement stock, that actually sounds like a better idea.

Thanks!

That's a good idea, thanks. It also has an SD card slot, for whatever reason. I'm going to try playing through the SD and see what shakes.

Finally got a haircut. Improvement? by MeSkatain malefashionadvice

Improvement implies upward movement. You've done more of a sideways movement, as in you could really do both.

THANKS!

I feel bad I didn't think of this myself.

Ok, thanks, it sounds like wood finishing is similar to most other things: the harder it is, the better it comes out. I definitely don't mind taking the longest road there is if it means that it'll look nicer/be more durable.

I guess I'd like my finish to look like this which is the standard finish a new Henry comes with (not sure what they did to make it look like this).

Again, I was asking mostly to learn how to make wood more durable.

Well I planned on getting at least 2 Garands, one crappy to refinish, one nice to be left alone and show it's experiences. As for the reason, I basically just want to refinish something cool/something that I can use.

I'd like to practice before that, though.

Goddamn Youtube blocking things because of stupid copyright infringement even though there's no infringement!

What I'm getting at is that I'd like a mirror to Vimeo or something because the video is blocked in the US.

Can I please have some suggestions on wood care? I ask as someone who's never taken a shop class. by m6hurricanein guns

Can I please hear more about that HD -> MMI interface? Are you talking about the SD slots, and then transferring to the on-board HD?

My car doesn't have a USB port anywhere, so I guess that the USB port would go where the iPod hookup currently goes. Upon reading your comment, I'm glad I didn't have to pay for the ipod connector, lol.

The song, as data, is fine. I played the song on my computer through nice Logitec speakers and the balance is ok. I play the songs through the ipod's 3.5 mm jack and into my Bose headphones, and the sound is still great.

I have only played a song through the 30-pin port (on the bottom, goes to USB) through the car radio. I think my parents have a home theater system where I can play the ipod through the 30-pin, so I'll try that.

Thanks for the impetus.

thanks anyway, but the iPod does all that for you. Like, the screen says "interface enabled" and you basically have no control over anything, you do everything through the car radio.

I used the ipod hookup, not the 3.5mm headphone jack.

My 93 Juicing Recipes (created and used during my first 60 day juice fast) - enjoy! by israel_torresin Juicing

[–]m6hurricane 1 point2 points ago

I've only used the 800JEXL, so I can only comment on that. I see that the BJE has a 5 speed motor, which I think is unnecessary. You just want the juice, what's the difference what speed the motor runs at? The 800jexl has "high, low, off."

The power in this thing is certainly strong. I've pushed plants pretty hard down it's input tube because I was lazy, and it took it and still made quality juice.

It handles greens very well, I've never had to interrupt juicing because of a jam or backed up solids. Yes, you can pour water into the unit, although you definitely would still have to take the unit apart to clean it. Clean up is easy, with the hardest part being brushing the basket.

Some people will put a small plastic bag in the solids receptacle to make clean-up easier. Instead of having to wash the solids receptacle, you just throw the bag away.

Also, if you want a really pulp free drink, you can pour the juice through a coarse "filter" like this. This is true for both the Omega and the Breville 800jexl, but the Omega takes significantly more amount of work to get the same consistency.
