Hmm depending on the time of travel, I'm thinking the following:

Short travel (e.g. 2-3 days, don't want to take a huge bag of luggage) - Preground coffee and keep in sealed bag. - Paper filters - Hario V60

Longer travel - Hario mill - Paper filters - Hario V60 - Big bag of coffee

Did you have the shoes properly fitted or did you just by them online? New shoes for me don't really need any breaking in online. Sounds to me like you don't have a great fit.

I generally just keep it in the bag and tie it up. I do go through at least a 300g bag per week so I've usually drunk it all before it goes bad.

Must have been a lot of effort for your coffee! For a year I had an espresso machine and hand grinder, and as a result only drank filter. Now I have my rocky I'm having lots more espresso.

Bought my rocky from Hasbean about 6 months ago after having to use a hario hand grinder. Runs like a dream, as mrcandyman says, it does leave a bit of coffee in the chute but it is pretty easy to clean it out. Highly recommended!

Haha saw the video this morning and I thought it would make Londoners cringe.

As a Melbournian who has recently moved to London after living elsewhere in UK for 3 years, I can see where the common misconception of Australians "exporting good coffee" to London. I've noticed that there are a lot of Australian baristas at the good coffee shops, but maybe for the same reason you see a lot of Australians as barmen at pubs.

This might be controversial here, but my opinion is that I agree that the coffee wont be at its optimum taste at that age, but if it has been stored correctly you will still extract some excellent coffee from those beans. It would be a shame for top quality coffee to be disposed of!

Do still complain to Amazon and Intelligestsia so they don't make the mistake again!
