lol it's a coin flip between which will be better at ~6:45 - the 5N through old town, or the 5S just after the 52. check the traffic reports 10 seconds before you leave? as long as you're not doing 56W->5S (relevant xkcd) and you're not doing 8W, you should be pretty close to optimum travel time.

Don't do this. Going 8West to 5South is a bitch because you have to deal with everyone on the 8 going back into Point Loma (via the Rosecrans ramp that's shared w the 5south ramp), OB (via Nimitz) and Mission Beach (via Sea World Drive).

Take 163 south all the way to 5 north (yes, north) - it's the Park Blvd exit, but veer right. SD airport will be your first exit. It'll spit you right onto Laurel without having to deal w the Sassafras malarkey of the 5 south exit.

*Edit - if you want to take 5 south for proximity to your parking situation, do 15->163->52->5 as someone else suggested. I think most of the Grand/Garnett traffic will have died down by then.

I almost always have 2 out at bare minimum - 1 to stay on top of my army, and 1 to scout ahead. Unless I'm currently suffering from roach/stalker/tank pressure, it's always the first unit I make out of my robofac. I'm not often pressured to have many more than that (maybe 1 more as a backup if I'm up some gas) because I'm OCD about dropping cannons around my perimeters. Obviously, the more you can macro and fan observers out to give you advance warning, the better.

Go with 1.667 per base.

How differently does the brain/body function when running on ketone bodies vs. glucose? While I imagine there could be a performance shift during the transition period, I'm more interested in the sustained performance.

If it wasn't obvious, I'm asking this because I'm interested in a ketogenic diet, but I don't want my athletic or intellectual performance to suffer as a result, simply because my brain has "gotten used to" using glucose over ketone bodies.

I feel like this depends on lot on whether or not you see an FFE happening. If you don't, then I favor the 12/19 in ZvP for a few reasons:

I feel much better equipped to deal w cannons/proxies/other cheese with the earlier pool
Sooner the queen gets out, sooner you can start injects. I'm at work so TL is blocked, but I gotta figure it's the difference between at least one inject cycle, maybe two. 8 more larvae are useful.
Better for early aggression, as you mentioned, in addition to map control, scouting for proxy pylons, etc.

Can you check my knowledge, then?

30-round magazines:
- must be detachable
- can only be used in a featureless rifle
- must not be used with a bullet button
10-round magazines:
- must be used if the build has any features, and bullet button is required?
- can be used if the build is featureless, and it doesn't matter if there is a bullet button or not?

Also, why is it that a bullet button counts as a feature? Since it necessitates the use of a tool (bullet) to remove the magazine from the lower receiver, that seems like it would hinder the performance of the weapon in an assault role (by making it more time consuming to resume firing). On the other hand, all other features (stocks/grips/whatnots) seem to enhance the performance of the weapon.

Question pertinent to your EDIT2: in CA, does your featureless SA rifle need to have a fixed mag? That is, does a featureless AR build require you to have a bullet button on it?

The impression I'm getting is that the answer to this is "no" - which means that if I want to use the fun add-ons, I'd have to switch out the lower receiver for something WITH a bullet button (or some other way of fixing the magazine to the weapon), and get back to a 10 round mag. But the second I want to use a 30 round mag, all I have to do is take off the {pistol grip/flash hider/folding stock/etc}, and I'm ready to rock?

at best you detect a proxy pylon/hatch/bunker, or kill the scout. at worst, you're even on mineral losses. you're really comfortable not knowing what an enemy worker is doing in your base?

i'm not trying to be a dick, this is a serious question... at any level above bronze, how do you allow a scout inside your base without a worker following it?

(1a) reactors, but they take a while to kill, and they're likely close to where reinforcements/turrets will be. but damn they take SUCH a long time to rebuild.

(1b) tanks hurt, if you can reach them in time, and no scvs around them.

(1c) scvs at the third, or at any min line not protected by turrets. preferably those far from rax.

(2) roach-festor

(3) metalopolis. also, any map where the third is a hike from the natural.

(4) i personally throw up 3-4 turrets the second i drop the cc/oc on the patch, because i know i'll have ~2 mules replacing the mins in the next few seconds.

(5) i'm bad at this - i usually only get an armory after i'm at 1/0 and armor is researching. i'd say it finishes 14-15 min, but that's a little bit of a guess.

(6) very rarely :'(

(7) i usually drop whatever scans i have saved up to get a sense of a standing army/larvae count. try to get an idea of the current thor : muta ratio. i know it's macro intensive, but i actually like moving out while i'm getting harrassed - provided it's not a dire threat to production, derp - because it means that both his army and his attentions are divided...
