Wine recommendation - Cabernet Franc by Isthatritein wine

[–]linkin22luke 0 points1 point ago

I visited Peju when I went to Napa, and I agree, they have a wonderful Cab Franc. In fact, I would say it was one of the wines that stood out the most to me that day. I would highly recommend it!

2002 Acura TL Type S transmission question by linkin22lukein cars

[–]linkin22luke[S] 0 points1 point ago

I would for sure love to drive a manual over an auto, and a little part of me died inside even considering buying this auto, even if it is a SportShift.

However, money is tight, the TL wasn't produce with a manual transmission until 04, and that model year is at the extreme end of my price range. This opportunity is a great deal for me, almost impassible given the market in my area, but I do not want to buy a lemon!

Quick questions on yourselves. by pFrogin cigars

[–]linkin22luke 1 point2 points ago

1) Yes. I don't think I have ever smoked a cigar alone. 2) I started smoking cigars about a year and a half ago. 3) My dad smokes cigars. My brother smokes a pipe. 4) I also enjoy my pipe tobacco. 5) I really enjoy whiskey. But I have enjoyed certain beers as well. 6) My dad was a heavy influence. He got serious about cigar smoking when I was in high school, we would talk while he smoked a stick, but often he would smoke alone on the porch, it was his escape. As a result I grew up with the notion that smoking cigars was a very dignified and cerebral activity that mature men did. After my first year of college one of my friends and fellow r/cigar member started to get more interested in the idea and we ended up at the local cigar shop. 7) Arturo Fuente Short Story 8) Felipe Dominicana Robusto. Props to evilsuh for hooking me up with my first one. Great value and a delicious smoke.

Does anyone have any insight into the fall of The French Laundry? I grew up relatively near it, and it was always talked about as one of the worlds greats? Why the fall from grace?

I actually really enjoyed Sam Adam's Rauchbier and would recommend as a starting Rauchbier, I really got me interested in the style. To each their own I suppose...

So, what is r/Christianity's view on smoking? by acmills237in Christianity

[–]linkin22luke 1 point2 points ago

Both of your responses are well said. I am of the opinion that the violation of the virtue of moderation is the foundation for what much of the Bible outlines as sin. Drunkenness is certainly a sin. But if one drinks, and does not become inebriated, no sin has been committed, in fact, no where in the Bible is the concept of simply drinking alcohol suggested to be sinful. Gluttony, drunkenness and the destruction of the body are sins. Eating, drinking and smoking (in moderation) are not.

My girlfriend and I are going to Napa in June. Our first time. Give me some suggestions. by DiscountPoniesin wine

[–]linkin22luke 0 points1 point ago

I just went to Napa last month, some of the wineries I really enjoyed were Frog's Leap, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Louis M. Martini, and Peju. Really enjoyable stops, each one brought something unique and interesting to the table, ie, Frog's Leap Sauv Blanc and Zin; SLWC Artemis and SLV Cabs; Louis Martini's Zin and Peju's Syrah and Cab Franc were standout wines that I would highly recommend to anyone!

Enjoy your trip!!!

ISO: Pliny the Elder or Founders Breakfast Stout FT: SoCal beers by linkin22lukein beertrade

[–]linkin22luke[S] 0 points1 point ago

I am north of both, I a distribution dead area. I have a local craft bar that I go to that stocks just about everything, but even they cant get their hands on it.

But as I mentioned in my PM to hourouheki, I would just as soon help someone get beer they can't easily obtain than drive 200 miles to get a couples bottles just for myself.
