Downvote and move on. The arrows are there for the users to moderate the content they want to see.

Blanket censorship of any news source is a dangerous path to go down on. We're not stupid, let us differentiate between quality and shit.

Mainly because the countries the respective leagues are in are corrupt. It's not the sport itself, it's the management and power brokers of the leagues that are corrupt.

Not true. Baseball is watched in Taiwan, but nobody on the mainland gives a fuck about it.

Blackburn co-owner admits to state of 'confusion' at club by RebelPenguinin soccer

I mean, I severely dislike both of them, but both Abramovitch and Sheikh Mansour managed to make their respective clubs 'work', so its not impossible.

And both thus far have lost significant amounts of money over the years, as has Moratti.

MAN CITY lost 307 million US this year! by sennaonein soccer

[–]limitz 8 points9 points ago

Backing out over what? That I won't leave r/soccer because I don't know exactly how big City's loss will be this year? You're deluded...

Based on the players signed last transfer season, and the wage bumps for several players due to winning the league, I think the loss will likely be higher. If it's lower, then great for City; they lowered their loss from the all-time highest loss in European soccer, quite an accomplishment.

will likely stretch the loss further this year.

Also:

I get annoyed when people purposely spread misinformation, yes.

The fact that Nasri, Aguero, and Dzeko weren't counted on last year's financials is not misinformation. It's fact. Mancini also wants to sign more players this summer; the fact that City's wage bill will increase next year is also not "misinformation".

The prize money for winning the league is decent, but not that much more than United or Arsenal. I believe the winnings for each place in the PL increases by about £700K per position.

Financially, the prize money associated with winning the league is a drop in the bucket compared with City's expenses.

MAN CITY lost 307 million US this year! by sennaonein soccer

[–]limitz 18 points19 points ago

Because players like Aguero, Dzeko, Silva, and Nasri were not counted on last year's financials; they will be included on the 2011-12 FY.

Amortization of transfer fees, in addition to an increased wage packet will likely stretch the loss further this year.

Did Inter get the same crap from the media 2 years ago that Chelsea are getting now? by funk_master_khanin soccer

Arsenal also went a man down in the first 20 minutes. Comparing a 10 an Arsenal to a 11 man Chelsea isn't fair.

Also, the ref even admitted after the game that the red was too harsh:

Are you currently on any SSRI's?

Fellow Gooners, are you happy that Chelsea won the CL? by grandweaponin Gunners

[–]limitz 4 points5 points ago

Absolutely not.

I dislike Chelsea as much as I dislike City. Clubs that do not play on an equal financial playing field, without the restrictions that naturally limit most clubs.

Chelsea and City have two of the highest wage bills in the league, and only because their wealthy sugardaddy owners can support it. We have lost so many players to money flush teams (Cole, Kolo, Nasri, Adebayor, and perhaps even RvP), that I cannot support any team like Chelsea or City.

Spurs being in the CL is a good thing for us. It makes the NLD more prestigious, bring in more viewers, revenue, fans, etc. Chelsea winning the CL will not be beneficial to Arsenal in the long run.

r/trees is by far the worst subreddit for trees on reddit. Every post feels like a immature teenager posting about how he was a [10]. Ironically, there are very few tree postings in r/trees, most of the posts are memes or dumb gifs... its awful.

r/glassheads, r/nugs, and /r/pieces are far better subreddits.

What my host family in Korea is feeding me for every meal! by whyyoudolikethatin food

the friends that I know has parents who simply just did not pass on the knowledge for fear of repercussions.

What repercussions? There were never repercussions for practicing traditions after the Cultural Revolution ended in '76, and Deng's reforms of "改革开放" (Gaige Kaifang) reversed much of the conservative/extreme ideology of the Cultural Revolultion.

Learning not to stick your chopsticks into rice is not even a ritual... it's just good table manners.

Having 2 generations of family that lived through the cultural revolution (and even were forced to go through re-education), this simply is not true...

Excellent 3 choices. French would certainly be on there for me as well, though I am not familiar enough with Turkish food to make that judgement (even though I loved the few times I have been).

It's a crying shame that 99.9% of American-"Chinese" restaurants completely butcher the cuisine. I have been to China many times with Americans, and almost always, they're completely shocked at how different Chinese food is from what they're used to in the States; as well as how different it is from city to city, and province to province.

Just the sheer variety in the cuisine is incredible.

Let's say RVP leaves. We get £30 million for him. Who do we buy? by meTahin Gunners

Falcao or Cavani.

If RvP goes to City, then a swap deal with Dzeko. If RvP goes to Barca, then a swap with David Villa.

Tech alum here. Was driving on Howell Mill this afternoon and saw this guy biking. My friend (also a Tech alum), exclaimed, "is that a solar panel? Must be Georgia Tech..."

It's pretty cool seeing this post tonight, as I just saw this guy a few hours ago. It also fills me with joy that he was indeed... a fellow Techie.

A few questions about LSD. First timer. by orange747in LSD

[–]limitz 0 points1 point ago

I've been able to share 3 people's first experiences with LSD, and all took 2 as their introduction.

With dosages as low as they are on the street now, you really need 2 to feel the full effects of the drug, open and closed eyed visuals, the sensation of the "mind's eye".

With the right set and setting, LSD is an amazing compound.

A few questions about LSD. First timer. by orange747in LSD

[–]limitz 2 points3 points ago

I've heard people say that they are in control on LSD. When one says that..exactly how much control?

Depends on the dose you take. The more you take, the lesser out of touch with reality you will be.

Can you stop yourself from seeing things?

No. And this is something you will just have to realize. If you take 2 tabs, you might have closed-eyed visuals which is both beautiful... patterns will form and dissolve, you may see colors based on the sounds of the room. And at the same time, it can be a little scary as there is no escape from the drug.

Hallucinations are not just something you can "turn off", which is a good thing, it allows for self-discovery. Even "bad" acid trips are profitable, and in the long run, may be helpful.

What type of things do you see? I want to drop half a tab.

You won't hallucinate much. What you'll see is pretty different from person to person, but take a solid dose (2 hits), and you should expect to see thing melt, hallucinations in patterns and posters, and other visuals.

The hallucinations also might change based on the music, so that's always interesting.

Is there any possibility of not seeing things on LSD?

Yeah, if you take too little (.5 of a tab is too little).

And lastly, can I control my thoughts?

LSD is based on set and setting. It's best to have a person who's tripped before, so he can guide you through the trip. How well you can control your thoughts is based on the strength of the acid. Three hits and your grasp on reality will be tenable at best. Two hits is a perfect balance between a grip on reality, yet your mind is free to wander and indulge itself.

In the wrong setting, a LSD trip can go south very quickly. Make sure to have good music, take the time to listen to a full album, I guarantee you will gain a deeper appreciation for that artist. Make sure it's a good album. Good music is a must. Also, be sure to eat a good meal before tripping, as LSD will make you forget you're hungry.

Set and setting is by far the 2 most important factors for a good trip. Definitely find the time to take a nice walk, watch a funny show, listen to good music, just enjoy your day.

I'm a firm believer that LSD is a drug that everyone needs to try at least once, and if you have the opportunity, don't shirk it. Don't be afraid to experiment. Two hits is great for a first experience, it was how much I did my first time, and I had a great time. Definitely try more than 0.5 though.

Does anyone fancy picking a fantasy team for Euro 2012 and joining a league for Redditors? by the_codfatherin soccer

I think Huntelaar will start. His goal scoring record this season has been utterly insane (for Schalke 04), netting 29 times in 34 appearances.

In addition, Huntelaar has always performed better than RvP in internationals, with 31 goals in 50 appearances.
