Yeah, you're, right. Perhaps, I should, sign up, for classes.

Ok Reddit is probably my last hope: Please sign this petition against Walmart moving into Chinatown, LA. Aiming for 1000 by tonight to present to elected officials at a meeting on tomorrow @ 10am. We need about 600 more to go! Thank you. by license2pwn3000in LosAngeles

I have lived in Chinatown for 17 years, and we went around Chinatown two weeks ago, to ask local business owners and communtiy members about their feelings on the issue. Many of them were against Walmart moving in, but held defeatist attitudes. Many of those who support it, (according to George Yu at a meeting last Friday at Chinatown Service Center when I asked him about the these "supporters" are), are organizations that aren't even in Chinatown, and owners of stores whose business will not be impacted (such as souvenir stores in Old Chinatown)

FYI, George Yu is from South Pasadena. Even if he runs the senior association in Chinatown, George Yu himself will not be directly impacted by what happens to the community.

I believe these supporters are the senior residents who live above the empty lot that the prospective Walmart will be located. These residents are told that a market will be built there. It is often that those in favor of Walmart are not aware of the impact it may have on local stores, culture, etc. In some instances, you have to look at the reasons why people support it.

Anyone have a story where someone has said something so ridiculously stupid that everyone in the room just had no idea what to say? by CaptainSoapMacin AskReddit

Yes. It was two months into AP Government class, and we were having a class discussion. A girl raised her hand and asks, "Isn't that something called politics?"
