TROPHY CASE

What's your favorite surprisingly good action scene? For me it's got to be this one from Grosse Point Blank by Thrusthamsterin movies

[–]lajy 6 points7 points ago

Every action sequence in The Way of the Gun is amazingly crafted, due to the fact that the director's brother is a former Navy SEAL and choreographed the gunfights and tactical maneuvers. Every moment is deliberate, and not just the action scenes either. The film has some pretty subtle stuff happening throughout. Really underrated flick, and it's on Netflix.

It looks like the SoundCloud download link is not working. Is there anyway you could fix that? I would really love to get this in my library, it is a fantastic mashup.

Also, why is Sex on Fire edited (the part where it is mashed up with Runaway)? I did not notice any other edited tracks (not that I was listening for them), but that one really caught my attention.

Oh, and the girl he's with (I love her, whatever)

That part really sealed the deal for me that this was just his way of being upset about his personal relationships more than anything

How I have been watching the episodes this season by spaghettifierin gameofthrones

Just finished watching the latest episode, and hopped on here. This post was the first thing I saw. Here's a dramatic reenactment of how I watched it. But seriously I was drinking Kraken Cokes.

I've thought about that concept before, the feeling I get from it really is unique. An event on a scale so massive that it would surely qualify as truly Lovecraftian in any meaningful sense. But it happens suddenly and without warning. You have enough time to realize what's happening, and then a little bit more. And then it's over.

Mirror’s Edge writer: Videogames need less stereotypes, more characters like Walter White by MonkJammasin Games

[–]lajy 17 points18 points ago

Yeah, no shit. It's such a ridiculous statement. Not only that, but a Mirror's Edge writer is the one who said it? I loved the hell out of that game, but that had exactly 0% to do with the writing.

James Cameron is Awesome by _repost_in funny

[–]lajy 11 points12 points ago

Eh, isn't that kind of what makes him great though? He's extremely talented, intelligent, focused, and driven. He's had people trying to exert control over his projects his whole career, and he's proven himself to basically always be right over and over again. He knows what he wants and always delivers, on a scale literally nobody else can. It's his vision, and he wants to make sure it makes it to the sceen that way. At least that's how I see it.

Who do you consider to be the best modern actor? by IndubitableGentlemanin movies

[–]lajy 32 points33 points ago

Bryan Cranston. Even if he's mostly shown his skill in television, he's absolutely untouchable in his performance on Breaking Bad. It's only a matter of time before he lands the right leading role with the right director and just destroys the film world.

[–]lajy 1 point2 points ago

Every movie you're interested in at all. As soon as I decide I want to see a movie (which is usually long before footage is released), I just avoid everything possible about it. What's the point in exposing yourself to any of it?

hell, I still find it laughable that it was a movie director/producer that had to travel to the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean, and not a scientist

You must not know very much about James Cameron. He's very scientifically active with a ridiculously impressive intellect. Like really, really, really smart. And incredibly passionate about the ocean.

That sounds like way too sensationalist of a way of looking at autism for anyone reasonable to believe it without some serious sourcing.

You completely miss it. The SI swimsuit issue is smut trash. The ESPN skin issue is a celebration of the human body and the various forms of athleticism it can take, and probably the only issue of either magazine I ever care about.

Because House is the name of a popular television series, and the recording of shows is the primary functionality of DVR. Just a guess. Also, don't say "random much," ever. You'll thank me later.

From Roger Ebert's Facebook: "Oh, no! In a move to recoup their unwise investment in 3D, theaters discuss, and I quote, 'patrons will have a single price for both 2D and 3D films. 2D prices will increase and 3D prices will decrease.' In other words, punishing those who dislike 3D." by Anthony_Hopkinsin movies

[–]lajy 5 points6 points ago

To everyone complaining about not being able to see 3D, or having some other physical problem with it, I'd like to direct you to a comment made by RobotBuddha a while back.

It's hilarious and I'm kind of digging it. As a cripple, I've had to put up with so much shit in my life. The biggest people against 3D seem to be the people who have some optical or neurological defect they didn't know about until now. Essentially, a giant ass batch of "normal" people just got dumped into the world of having a disability. A tiny disability, but still a disability. A million times less severe than mine, and they're handling it with just the level of "If I can't do it, nobody should be able to!" selfishness I always suspected most of the population would express if they were put in that position.

I'm loving every moment of discomfort these people feel on being excluded from something when they have a worldview of entitlement.

I know that p2p is maligned by PC players but it will be cool to set up a quick game with friends online rather than joining a server full of people you don't know

You do know you can just set up your own server and play with your friends on the computer too, right? You don't have to play with strangers to play online.

That being said, split screen sounds awesome for a game like Minecraft.
