So I am an avid public transportation user, I am also a woman so these outcomes may vary.

1- I noticed a good looking guy on the bus. Every morning I would catch him looking at me and he would immediately look away. After about the third day of this I came prepared. I wrote my number on a piece of paper and as I was getting off the bus I handed it to him. We texted for a bit and then went on a date.

The date ended up being horrible, he talked about his ex the whole time and even texted her! She called him a few times though out the night as well. He did not get a call back.

2- On the train home from that date I thought I saw someone I knew, turned out it wasn't him but a pretty cute guy. We ended up getting off on the same stop. He proceeded to chat with me for a couple of blocks, told me he was going to a free show and invited me to go. I declined because I had work the next day and we parted ways.

When I got to my house a block later I thought about how nice that guy was and I would never see him again. I thought 'what the hell' and walked back to where he was going. I gave him my number and we had a great few months.

3- I was talking to a guy about "The Invisibles" while on the bus. A week later I was reading the local paper, skimming the "I Saw You" section when I read:

"Dark Phoenix

On the #. You said you were reading this. I was reading the Invisibles. You were just as hot as you were geeky. I wanna get together with you and make your novel graphic."

After much digging this is the actual quote. It was too hilarious not to save. I did not contact him.

TLDR You win some, you lose some. You should always try of you'll never know.
