I did it for two years daily and still head out there once every other week or so. I became numb to the drive (usually took about 45 min to an hour each way), but since my job moved to the city, I find the commute to Herndon pretty unbearable. Sounds like your hours should help. I worked 8-4, and it was pretty ridiculous how traffic was exponentially more fucked whenever I headed out with the 9-5 crowd.

Above all else, make sure it makes sense to you. My job pays great so I could afford to live in this expensive city that I love so much. It was worth it to sit in my car for two hours every day.

P.S. Don't live in Herndon.
