TF2 Smoothing Tutorial by kirbaaaayin tf2

You can't smooth STV demos. For those, you have to press space (or whatever key you have changing spectator perspectives to) until you're in free cam, and move about however you want as the "camera" while recording that section of the demo.

Smoothing is basically directing a camera to get different views for whatever. It can be used to show a friend's/teammate's sweet kill or kill spree on the other team. It can be used to show off a cool kill or kill spree you had, but since you can't see yourself in smooths if you use a POV demo, you have to re-enact the scene. Sounds like a lot of work but it really isn't.

You can also just show off the map/landscape for cinematic purposes. I guess smooths in general are for cinematic purposes.

I actually just think the spline angles focus on rendering (maybe?) the path between each key, and the spline origin focuses on the keys.

I could be completely wrong and you could be completely right, but I'm not sure. Glad to know you enjoy this though :) And yeah, can do more with the demoui but I have no idea what the other smoothing options do like +/- key/target, etc. I'll have to look into those sometime.
