I understand what you mean about the smell and aftertaste, I really don't know of another way to make PB bread but haven't really experimented much past this. Usually Cream cheese and some SF preserves (raspberry/blueberry/strawberry) compliment it nicely and really mask any after taste. Just gotta keep an eye on the carb counts of the preserves.
