I'll confirm that they are a legitimately good live band.

Well, to be fair, I hate ICP for more than their fan base.

Something you like to eat that most people would cringe at? by anticipatedvomitin food

My wife hates it when I do this. I've eaten kiwi with the skin on since I was a kid. Nice to know there's someone else.

Info on Hunt Valley area? by Lokisrevengein baltimore

It's as combination of the two, and I wouldn't say it leans one direction or the other.

Out of curiosity, where are you moving from?

Info on Hunt Valley area? by Lokisrevengein baltimore

Hunt Valley has your typical suburban shopping, chain restaurants, etc. I think you'll be surprised by how close it is to other towns (Cockeysville, Timonium, Towson, Baltimore are all a straight shot south on York Rd or 83. From Hunt Valley to Towson is maybe 10 minutes drive).

Hunt Valley's average age would be the highest of the bunch. I'd venture a guess at early-40s, but I've done exactly no research apart from living in the Baltimore area for 10 years. It's an upper-middle class area, for sure. Slightly northwest is Glyndon which is very well-to-do; several CEOs of local companies live there, as does Cal Ripken. Hunt Valley to the east and Reisterstown to the west serve as the shopping areas for Glyndon, so there's a lot of high-end stuff in both locations.

Hunt Valley has the entrance to the Northern Central Railroad (NCR) Trail. Great biking and hiking, if that's a thing you do. You can also find entry to Gunpowder River for Kayaking, though I've never actually verified that this is strictly legal. Maybe someone with more knowledge than me can pipe in.

Cockeysville, just to the south of Hunt Valley, is a middle-class area with an average age in the mid-20's. There's a large neighborhood of town homes and apartments just off of York Rd where most everyone who has gone to college in or around Baltimore has lived at some point. I rented an apartment there for 3 years and loved it. There's a great climbing gym, good local restaurants, a couple decent bars.

Towson, still further south, is a college town that has grown into a small city. All the pros and cons that come with that. Probably the best mall in the area is in Towson.

If you want the culture and real local flair, you're not far enough from Baltimore that it's inconvenient to enjoy. Baltimore does not get its due credit. There are several theaters for live stage productions, multiple art museums ranging from the classic and contemporary to the wonderfully weird. BTW, people claim that Austin is weird. Baltimore wins at this game, and doesn't brag about it.

All in all, if you're working that far north, and if you're used to suburban living, you could do a lot worse than Hunt Valley in my opinion.

Didn't realize that was the requirement. Thanks.

Any idea if the AirPort card from the Mac Pro allows the card to go into promiscuous mode? I'm a network engineer, and it would be great be able to use all the features of Kismac without having an external card.

New Oxford American (OS X):

orthogonal |ôrˈTHägənl| adjective

  1. of or involving right angles; at right angles.

Since lasagna is assembled using horizontal strata, and this appears to be made with vertical strata, I'd say it's not too far from the dictionary definition. Not far enough to hinder communication, anyhow.

I have a house in Waverly that might come open around August. 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath at in the $1200/month range.

Most real estate agents will help you find a rental for a relatively small fee. It's a really good way to go.

Who remembers this weird pizza from the school cafeteria? by dreampuffin food

My schools called it "Mexican Pizza" which I always thought was an insult to Mexicans. I'm still shocked that eating that school lunch garbage every day didn't kill me.

Should have been clear, that didn't happen. He cut x, flipped the board, cut y, flipped the board, cut more x, flipped, cut more y.

You know, back when I was single and veggie, I heard that too. Married, now, and my lovely wife doesn't mind what I'm eating. Guess I'm just lucky.

After my folks split up, my Dad went from not cooking at all to cooking a lot. One day my wife and I went over; Dad was really excited to make us dinner. He was cutting the chicken with impressive technique. Once it was in the pan, he flipped his cutting board over and started cutting an onion. Apparently, he'd been doing all his prep like that. My stomach turned.

After dinner, we went out and bought him labeled cutting boards. Meat on the meat board, veggies on the veggies board.
