What gender stereotype(s) do you hate the most? by sexiibitchin AskReddit

[–]kalamawho 0 points1 point ago

How is not wanting kids selfish?! In my view, insisting on passing along your crappy genes by creating another organism that is just going to consume already scarce resources is one of the most selfish things you can do...I don't understand these people.

The perpetuation of this inaccuracy is infuriating. The correct caption would read "My body, my choice, my money." All Sandra Fluke was advocating was that a student health insurance plan--paid for by Georgetown students, not taxpayers--cover birth control. Seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Place my piercing! by bluntbangsin TwoXChromosomes

[–]kalamawho 2 points3 points ago

I have 9 piercings in my ears, and out of all them my rook is my favorite. It looks great and was VERY easy to heal. I also really like my snug, but it was a bitch and a half to heal. (Those aren't my ears, but just to give you an idea.)

I had an ex-boyfriend who actually used that stupid line to try to convince me to have sex with him too. "Just the tip...just to see what it feels like...you'll like it, I promise." The difference is he actually respected the fact I said "no" and backed off.

I'm so, so sorry it wasn't the same in your situation, OP.

I have very low iron (~9, for women the Red Cross requires 12.1 to donate) and haven't been able to donate for a while. It sucks that I can't give blood, but I volunteer to help organize and run the drives instead. Maybe something to keep in mind if you find that you can't donate for any reason.

Hey, now. I'm studying abroad in Aberdeen, and it's not that bad. The weather is actually quite nice compared to where I come from in Michigan, and Seaton Park is lovely as long as you're not there after dark.

If you're into science at all, go to the Natural History Museum and ask for a ticket to the Spirit Tour at the desk when you walk in. Admission and the tour are free, and they take you behind the scenes of the research facilities there and show you the giant squid, specimens collected by Darwin on the Beagle voyage, and lots of other cool stuff. When I was there one of the scientists was taking specimens out of the tank room and we got to see an anglerfish the size of a beach ball. In my opinion, it's one of the coolest things you can do for free in that city.
