What is something you take for granted that most others will never experience? by Momentumjamin AskReddit

I've gone 63 miles per hour on a bicycle. That's a rush.

Forget all the great concerts you've been to, what is the WORST concert you've seen? by scadsofemotionin AskReddit

[–]k_to_the_j 4 points5 points ago

I went to see Three-6 Mafia last year and was genuinely excited about it. After no less than 6 opening acts and a 45 minute break, DJ Paul and Juicy J walked on stage 20 minutes before the club closed. They proceeded to perform half of Slob on my Knob and half of Poppin' My Collar, took a weed break, performed half of Stay Fly, and walked off stage 5 minutes after they started. A small riot ensued.

Who says boys can't wear Barbie nightgowns? It's a much more reasonable solution.

Breakfast tacos - It's been about a year since this was asked but are there any new places? by theAustinotin Austin

[–]k_to_the_j 1 point2 points ago

El Primo on South 1st.

I've never had their breakfast tacos, but based on everything else, Rosita's Al Pastor (E Riverside in front of the bingo hall) will have really good ones

When I was about 15, I was standing around the kitchen with my parents and a few family friends. I had a little hole in the crotch of my jeans, and one of my friends, who is about 22 at the time, makes some remark about watching out so my junk doesn't fall out. Everyone laughs. I say "well, that might be a problem for you, but this hole is way too small for me to have to worry about."

He says "I think k_to_the_j is still too young to know the difference between fantasy and reality." Everyone laughs again.

I end all matters of discussion with "No, I'm plenty old enough to know the difference between your fantasy and my reality."

Do you guys know anyone who constantly makes up bullshit? If so, what are some of their most absurd lies? by jpagel1in AskReddit

[–]k_to_the_j 1 point2 points ago

It's a tough call between my friend who said he did a u turn at 130 miles per hour to get out of a police chase, and my friend who said he chased a bear for 10 miles so he could punch it in the face.

Today I tripped and fell on a girl I liked and broke both her legs. What's the worst you've ever hurt someone? by Poopsack99in AskReddit

Reminds me of one of my dad's friends, who tired of having "the neighborhood punks" drive by and hit his mailbox with a baseball bat, filled it with cement. Broken arms were had.

Same here! Without the shoplifting. I bought it because the cool guy in my class said it was the best album ever.

What's the easiest upper division elective at UT? by AdibMin UTAustin

I'll second Brownstein. I made an A without studying and yeah, one of very few elective classes that I looked forward to going to every time.

Tubular or Clincher? by Fastegioin Velo

[–]k_to_the_j 1 point2 points ago

I love my tubulars for racing. I have a set of Zipp 404s that I've used racing for the last seven years or so.

The biggest difference that I notice is that due to the shape of the tire, they corner much better than clincher tires. While clinchers have practically vertical sidewalls, tubulars are much closer to a circle in cross section, meaning that you can lean further without losing traction.

I also use sealant in my tires. Just last week I pulled them out of my wheelbag the night before a race and found a large piece of wire stuck through one of them. I pulled it out, poured a little Stan's in, and by the next morning it was good as new.

If you do get tubulars and plan to glue them yourself, make sure you have someone who knows what they're doing supervise you the first time. It really is easy to do, but also easy to screw up.

Freshman here. Anyone care to explain Round-Up to me? by TheKelvinatorin UTAustin

[–]k_to_the_j 3 points4 points ago

As I understand it, it's officially "an open house" where prospective members can visit and see what the different houses and greek life are all about. Unofficially, it's "the biggest party of the year" where the sluts and douchebags make sure you know who they are before drinking something they like to pretend is beer for the majority of a weekend.

Basically, what these other guys said.

I'm blonde, so I once tried the inverse - tips were dyed black. I left the barbershop with a buzz cut.

Everyday I ride to school, I'm astonished at the number of cyclists who haven't adjusted their bikes to fit their bodies. If your legs aren't nearly fully extended when you pedal, then I urge you to check this guide; you'll ride much faster too. by Smegma_Torpedoin UTAustin

[–]k_to_the_j 1 point2 points ago

Read it more carefully ...

Now when you move your foot into the proper pedaling position, with the balls of your feet over the pedal, you'll have a slight bend in your knees.

My apartment complex recently installed new gate locks. You need a code to get in, but not to get out. I don't think they thought this through. by JustDarrenin pics

[–]k_to_the_j -1 points0 points ago

Why bother reaching through when the code is probably 2 and 4 at the same time then 3, anyway.
