Agreed. Also, since you can get the ballad of gales early on, if you ever do feel the need not to be awesome and sail, you can just teleport all over the place.

I agree this sucks, but I don't think the app maker's intent is to "scam" people out of their money. Giving a kid an iphone, without any Parental Controls enabled is just irresponsible. The app even is required to pop up the official dialog and confirm how much they are about to pay, in real currency. You can't expect kids to fully understand that kind of thing, and that is why such controls have been added to iOS. If you wouldn't hand a kid a blank check or a fistful of cash and expect him to act responsibly, then you shouldn't hand them an uncontrolled iPhone without putting a little thought into it on your own end.

I obviously can't prove that such app developers definitely aren't trying to scam, but that link also shows a kid buying a $1000 dollar BAR exam app. I seriously doubt that developer is banking on kids mis-clicking as its main source of revenue.

I agree that maybe some app developers can be shady, though.

Happens. As soon as you go a bit negative in karma, hivemind has a tendency to kick in. I didn't delete my comment, as I don't really think people should backpedal, but the few other comments praising my comment (that were ironically upvoted) make me feel that I wasn't in the wrong.

Wow, that was very interesting. I for one never get why someone would go out of their way to complain about something that isn't marketed to them. If you think paying $20 for a huge set of skins is BS, then don't pay it. They are a company. They put it out there because they think someone will like it and/or buy it.

I don't get mad at a game that comes out on Steam if it doesn't look like a game I would like. "What, this isn't targeted at me? GRRRAR, HOW DARE THEY SELL IT!"
