Holy moly! I love her work Sooo much! Very cute stuff, I see all that black and white and I want to colour it SOOO bad, If she ever makes it big and doesn't want to do her colouring, she knows where to come! I would love to 'digitize' one of these for her. I think I'll post a comment to her (maybe you could ask her if she doesn't check that often)

Yes there's a photo I start with, then I lay down guidelines, around the face, hair, clothing, ect. anything I would consider a deep shadow.

After that, I start adding layer on top of layer, adjusting the blending modes/opacity, ect. Then onto blending blurring and smudging a whole bunch until I'm happy with the way it looks.

Here's a progression album with the original photo included.. I always want to do more 'unrealistic' looking things but I always end up with something like this. A cartoonish style really intrigues me, I wish I could be better at it, I'll just have to keep at it :) I'd love to see your sister's stuff if you have a link you could hook me up with. Thanks for the reply, I don't really care much about who said it, but I just wanted to clear that up in case someone did take me the wrong way.

I'm assuming you know this, but I made this image in photoshop, with using a mouse. I lay down major lines from a photograph, then the majority of my time is spent putting layers on top of layers. Smudging, blending ect. According to some I 'traced' this image and am being 'disingenuous' in my post. Thought maybe I should clarify that I didn't 'draw' this on paper.

um, yes I lay down the lines according to the photo. I know lots of painters that use this same process via a projector.

I'm assuming your envious as you can't make anything yourself. But thanks for analyzing my work so thoroughly.

Hahaha, just read the username, this guy had a 'conversation' with me a few months back.

I guess he's stalking me now, seeing as he's male and has called me a 'stupid pothead' before, I doubt he browses here often.

This actually makes me more motivated to keep up with my 'art' I guess I kinda got to him.

thank you for your response I just watched that body language documentary, they used her as an example of someone faking emotion,ect. I have seen Dear Zachary (soooooo sad) but very well done.
