Hi r/anime, I'm bored and recently found an interest in anime, again, to pass the time much faster. I'm looking for a love story/comedy that ACTUALLY GOES SOMEWHERE, not "oh they flirt a lil bit". I'm looking for something like Love Hina, a lil bit of Girls Bravo. by jared030858in anime

[–]jimadybobalon 1 point2 points ago

You may like Kaichou wa Maid-sama!:D there's no ecchi or harem, it's a pure comedy romance. But it does comedy and romance amazingly :D and definitely goes somewhere! :D

Also if you like ecchi comedy then you'll bloody love B Gata H Kei :'D dear god it definitely goes somewhere and it's one of the funniest anime I've ever seen :'D

If you like Love Hina and Girls Bravo then you'll probably like Sora no Otoshimono as well :P my favourite harem/ecchi/comedy :'D

Damn there's so many possible answers to this.

To me Gaming can be anything. It can make me laugh hysterically - Portal. Or make me swear and want to break things - I Wanna Be The Guy games. Or it'll make me laugh one moment and incredibly sad the next - Half Life. Or it's a place to join in with friends and have a laugh on a regular basis - Call of Duty 4. It can also confuse me - Phoenix Wright - then amaze me with the solution when I spend hours working it out. And during 99% of these I'm also having fun. But they're all different types of fun. And variety is fun itself :P

To me gaming is just pure possibility. Games can do anything! They can't necessarily accomplish anything TV or Anime or books couldn't, it's just that Games have a certain interactivity that isn't really present in any other medium. They're unique in a way. Visual Novels are a nice bridge between Anime and Games :P I think they're pseudo-games and are unique in themselves :D

And lately when I play games I see them in a whole new light as in the future I plan to make games. I'm in second year of University learning how right now, and so when I see something in a game that I know how to accomplish myself I think 'I could do that!' :D And even more so when I don't know how something in a Game was accomplished it amazes me on a design perspective that I wouldn't realise had I chosen a different career path.

So whether it be fun, humor, sadness, frustration, anger, satisfaction, excitement, dread, denial or anything really, games can accomplish it :D I think they can even make you feel love, for a character or just for the game itself. And games aren't just possibility for me anymore, they're my possibility. My future :D

To me, gaming can be anything and that's exactly what I want to do! Anything.

TLDR - It's pretty damn awesome.

Steam

First game I remember playing would be Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo. I remember that I was playing it so much I didn't want to go to school. So my parents had to give it away to a cousin, because I wouldn't stop playing it :D

Good times~

He has the Vow of Peace as well as the Vow of Poverty. Vow of Poverty gets you more bonuses for having the the Vow of Peace as well. Does that account for it all?

Vow of Silence by xxx_monkeyin rpg

[–]jimadybobalon 1 point2 points ago

Yea~ it is. He gets a lot of bonuses to it from the Vows he's taken. He has also recently been appointed some position (I forget the name) which means he's is the diplomacy guy :P And because of that he has a staff that adds 5 or 10 to his diplomacy for everyone who knows what it is/signifies.

Yea I know about a Wu Jen's taboo, but that's to get their class abilities. Is your friend a Wu Jen? If so why not give him extra spells/day for taking in a taboo of that magnitude :P Or increase his spells' DC or an extra Spell Secret :P

If they're not a Wu Jen the other stuff you could give them for choosing not to talk could be: Pluses to Intimidate to characters who know he never talk and have never heard him talk; immunity from being forced to talk (could never be tortured for information); pluses to listen, as he's a listener not a talker; etc :P

The Vow of Poverty is Fantastic! A friend is currently playing a lawful good Monk who is the epitome of good :D He has a diplomacy of +24 and an AC of 32(-ish)... at level 6. It's a damn fun game :D

A question about Time Travel, and theories behind it. by Carleeetosin rpg

[–]jimadybobalon 0 points1 point ago

Maybe it's not his physical body that's there, but just an untouchable unmovable image of him and his senses. That would be the best way to do it if you wanted it to be a curse. He tried to tamper with time and so a god made him live every moment in time at that location (relative to the earth). He sees, hears, smells, feels, etc, but since he's taking ALL of time from that location in at once he's completely unable to form a response or even attempt to speak.

You could have it so maybe he even saw this ghostly image of his time locked self when he was a child. Only realising what it was when looking at it from the other side.

After experiencing all of time from that location he was then returned to live his life with this knowledge. Maybe he went crazy, or wrote a book about what has and will happen, or maybe he simply wilted away, unable to eat, drink, do anything as he was busy trying to PROCESS all that information.

If he survived and wrote a book then if the adventurers find the book later on it may have an entry of when he saw them and what they did to him. If they tried to poke him to see if he felt anything or was a ghost or if they tried to kill him it'll be in his entry as he felt all the pain. Of course he felt it all at once so he had no time to ponder why these strange people were doing this to him, that came after he was released from the horrible nightmare that lasted all of time.

I'd love this game! -Steam-

I love evil games like Super Meat Boy and I Wanna Be The Guy :P This seems like it may be in the same "I HATE YOU SO MUCH SO I'M GOING TO BEAT YOU" category of games :D So fun~

If you ever played a high level melee character, you can appreciate why I did this, instead of a normal char sheet. by fledgling_curmudgeonin rpg

Same! I'd love to have a look at/fiddle with this awesome code :D

I wrote a program a while ago to calculate min & max damage for a specific attack, including extra damage and critical hits into the count if needed. Would love to keep working on it to eventually be as awesome as this :D
