The issue isn't so much the design being wrong in older versions of IE, it's that modern browsers support totally new technologies like cross domain messaging, web sockets, client-side storage, client-side databases, the File API, Web Audio API (not just the <audio> tag, but things like replay gain, pan, and a ton of other things that were simply impossible without desktop software).

They aren't dropping support for design reasons, they're dropping support because those browsers simply can't perform or operate with the new APIs.

Joysticks would probably be easier. I'd imagine cows could more easily push a joystick than move a mouse.

I don't need to. We are already in agreement that the PS3's hardware is technically superior to the XBOX 360's.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. The CPU, RAM and GPU are completely different between the two. The PS3's CPU performance (measured in gigaflops) is almost 3 times that of the XBOX. The PS3 also doesn't need to share its system RAM with the GPU, unlike the XBOX. Oh, and the PS3's RAM runs 4.5 times faster than the shit inside the XBOX.

The reason it's there is because the XBOX can't handle it.

Yes. It's to compensate for having joysticks instead of a mouse (which is far easier for humans).

With joysticks you have push it in a direction and wait for your crosshairs to line up and then let go. With a mouse you can simply move it to the exact position you wish to aim.

I'll let you keep your Javelins for faster acceleration in the tanks. The Abrams is poop compared to the T-90. Especially when it comes to acceleration and being able to see what's behind you.
