You do realize that the reason other countries buy US Treasury Bonds is because the US always pays? I won't argue with you about the simple fact that the US Government is corrupt though. What you need to realize is that you are part of the problem, because you are stereotyping an entire nation without having any clue about the individuals who suffer and love and get sick and thrive and bleed for nothing and get rich and die and live and get divorced and fall in love and lose children and become great parents...not to mention the people you don't believe in who sacrifice their entire lives to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and love the unloved. But you know, your tunnel vision is convenient and seems to make you smug and content, so if you want to hold onto it, go ahead. If you care to consider that entire fucking nations are made up of individuals who sometimes fight the system but sometimes just fight to face another day or to hold their marriages together or to provide for their kids, you might have a better semblance of something approaching reality. The whole 'America is Rome' thing sounds fun for people who are into schadenfreude boners, but maybe there is a better solution for us as humans, and maybe it starts with dropping blanket statements about entire nations and entire groups of people. Get over your notions from reality TV and elite military and wall street fat cats, there are real people in 'Mericuh who actually give a shit about making things better and who actually try.
