TROPHY CASE

My entire facebook news feed today. by MustngSSin philadelphia

[–]j_alt 1 point2 points ago

Yeah - at night, the Princeton will be the only place packed until around July. Whitebriar gets a crowd around the second half of the year at night. Jack's gets a decent crowd on Friday for their half off drinks, but their best night is Thursdays.

Anyone know a good ENT (doctor, not pot smoker) specialist in the area? by talkingsmallin philadelphia

I currently see Dr David Rosen at Jefferson and have had good interactions with him. He does not do nights / weekends to my knowledge. It took about 2 weeks to get on his schedule.

Parking in olde city at night on weekends? by jjman24in philadelphia

[–]j_alt 0 points1 point ago

  1. On market st, make a left onto Front st. This will take you into a back area that not a lot of people go down. It will dead end and take you onto Arch st. There is usually parking there.

  2. Wood St has 24 hr free parking on it. This is almost impossible to park on because of that.

  3. Going S on 2nd st, make a left onto New St. You'll loop around onto Vine. There sometimes parking here.

  4. There is parking near St George's church on 4th St. This tends to be open too.

Realize that Old City is an area that is heavily frequented by people from the suburbs and Jersey and that many people drive / park here plus all the residents and tourists who are in this area. Parking sucks. Come earlier than 11 and you'll find more options.

[Cocktail of the Week] Week 10 - Tom Collins by therationalpiin cocktails

Nah, go for it. My biggest mistake was bailing and not just passing it on to someone.

Thanks for restarting this due to my sloth.

The one thing I add when making a Tom Collins is a few dashes of bitters.

Microsoft to invest $300M in Barnes & Noble's Nook e-book platform by louiebaurin business

[–]j_alt -2 points-1 points ago

It seems like Microsoft keeps being late to the party and instead of investing in a strategic new product, invests heavily to replicate what someone else is already doing well.

BN lost tons of market share after treating the internet as an after thought while building more and more giant stores. It seems like this is going to be another great chance to lose a lot of money for Microsoft while building another product whose goal is to chase an innovative one.

Xfinity live for Sunday Funday by WhaddupBiatchin philadelphia

[–]j_alt 0 points1 point ago

I've gone to Xfinity Live for many of the Flyers / Pens games and would have gone yesterday if I was not already going to Dayload ( A monthly Sunday Funday party in No Libs). I will probably be there prior to game 2 watching people struggle to stay on a mechanical bull.

I enjoy going there for the energy of the place and the atmosphere that is generally happy and fun. There are always people there that get upset for how busy it is or that it sometimes takes awhile to get a drink.

The article also seems to describe the fact that Xfinity Live is not the type of place he would enjoy and attempts to highlight why people would go there.
