People are downvoting me because they hate high rates. I do too, a lot. I think telcos have a LONG way to go before they become fairly competitive. But facts are facts, and people need to stop being in denial about it. A cell tower can only handle a certain range at the wavelengths they transmit and receive. The more area you have, the more infrastructure you need for proper coverage. Canada has one of the lowest population densities in the entire world, and unfortunately because of that, infrastructure costs more. We're talking more fiber backbones, more microwave towers, more equipment at each tower, that's just the way it is. I've worked with RF for 8 years, I know the system. Downvote me all you want, but being in denial about cold hard facts doesn't change anything.
