hmm ok I'll do thinking and see what I can come up with. And I wasn't thinking of deploying full apps with a console interface. I picture I'll be sitting in class and need to do some repetitive problems, modify an existing app really quickly and voila, I can do them on my tablet whenever I want to. It's strictly personal app development.

It seems to me that they streamline a lot of the more tedious parts of programming, such as setting up packages, importing, overidding/implementing methods, compiling, creating graphical layouts, etc.

I agree with you, and my post doesn't quite get my sentiment right. He tells us we shouldn't use IDE's at all. ever. even after you understand what's going on. In addition, this isn't an introductory course, so you should know how to compile and run a program already.

I don't see how this is an introvert/extrovert thing. I like the feeling of sunshine raining on my face, a cool breeze, and most importantly sitting alone in a shady part of campus, reading/working/whatever.
