You should have it going around Parliament Square.

This is mine from about a week ago. It's not where I live, but it's not too far away.

The Hope Valley Grand Prix Circuit, Derbyshire, UK.

Track Map

Track Map with photos

Map on Google Maps

Lap length: 10.8 miles (17.4km). 18 Laps. 105 corners. Clockwise. Elevation Change: 290 metres

Running through Castleton, Edale and Hope, the Hope Valley Grand Prix circuit would evoke the old Nurburgring, with dozens of corners, steep climbs, a narrow track and numerous unique features.

Notable features include Winnats Pass - a steep & narrow winding road rising 140 metres between jagged rock formations (might have to remove the cattle grids though!); two tight hairpins; and stone arch bridges.

There are a few problems:

  • Most of the roads are single-track. Widening them would be extremely problematic in places, and the Peak District National Park Authority would go apeshit at the suggestion.

  • As noted, there are two cattlegrids on the route, which would have to be temporarily removed. The fact there are cattle grids suggests there are animals loose. There are. Sheep. Lots of them.

  • There are also two stone railway bridges, which quite frankly are only wide enough for one car at a time.

Apart from these few small issues, it's a goer! :)

What is the most iconic image in modern Formula 1? by oh84sin formula1

I'd wager that if they'd have kept the Honda engine, it would have been even faster

I don't agree. The Honda engine wasn't nearly as good as the Merc.

Yup, it was Mansell. Keke Rosberg won the race wearing an ice-water skullcap under his helmet.

Tower of London - depends when you go. I was there first thing on a Saturday morning and it was fine. It was at the end of January though.

The Sherlock Holmes Museum - It's not too bad for £6. You could easily spend an hour there. I guess it depends how big a fan you are really. The mannequins on the 3rd floor are a bit rubbish though.

[–]intheballpark 0 points1 point ago

They've changed it a bit from the original plan. Turns 1, 2, 3, 18 and 19 all have their alignment changed. The track's a bit shorter too - the bit between turns 1 and 2 has been cut back quite a bit.
