my uncle (closest brother to my mom so that gives you an idea of how much a big part of my life he was) died drunk on the streets of Madurai, India after being hit by a bus while trying to cross the street. More than the idea that I would never see him again, my mom's reaction to hearing the news (I was there when she first heard it) makes me choke up every time. Call me fucked up or a hypocrite but I still drink quite a bit.
