The Galaxy at War screen on the main menu will probably have a scrolling message about it, just like they did for the first map pack.

Sadly, no. I've maxed out my Asari Adept and have gotten numerous cards. The weapon cards stop popping up once they're maxed.

Given the number of people I've seen with N7 scores below 500 running around using Batarians with maxed out rare guns, I have a feeling they are making so much money off people buying spectre packs that they can afford to give away the maps and stuff for free. Especially since adding more characters and weapons encourages those same people to spend more money.

Try this build.

  • 60% weapon damage bonus and increased carry weight from the Alliance Training

  • 50% weapon damage bonus, 40% health/shield damage reduction, and 100% shield bonus with adrenaline rush

  • Super powered concussive shot that you can launch every 2 seconds (or less with a single gun load out)

My method was basically stun them with a concussive shot, and then finish them with round or two from the Mattock. I doubt I'll replay the class anytime soon, but it worked pretty good.

It's funny seeing all these complaints about the Geth Plasma Rifle. That thing is a friggin awesome compliment to any character with Warp, especially against the reapers. Hit em with warp, weaken armor, and then just shred through all their defenses.

Hmmm....yes, quite invigorating. I love the interplay between the grassy top notes and the subtle undercurrents of barnyard hay. Oh, and what a glorious finish. The retro-nasal experience is simply to die for!

You're welcome, and good luck.

One last bit of advice: don't be dissuaded from applying for jobs that you don't have experience in. The job that unintentionally started me on my path is a perfect example of how enthusiasm and being receptive to possibilities can lead you someplace you'd never expect.

Story time:

I was 22. I had dropped out of school and my cash was drying up quickly, so I had been out all day dropping off resumes and looking for work in restaurants since I'd worked in them all through high school and figured my experience would at least get me an interview. On my way home, I stopped at the pet store near my house to pick up some food for my chameleon. It was about 5:30 in the evening, the place was packed, and the only worker was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. Since I wasn't in a hurry I just hung out looking at all the lizards and fish, and started talking to a couple little kids about the various animals. I was just shooting the shit with them, answering the basic, "What is that?", and "What does it eat?" questions that little kids ask. After a couple minutes, their father asked me if I could help him bag up a fish. When I told him "Sorry, I don't work here." he replied, "You should. You obviously know a lot about animals, and you just gave them more attention and answers than the staff ever has."

When it finally slowed down enough for me to talk to the employee (who I soon discovered was one of the owners), I jokingly mentioned that they needed to hire someone else for the evening rush. She just scowled at me and said something like, "No shit. One of our people quit today with no notice. You know anyone who's looking for a job?" I said, "Me. When can I start?"

After she realized I was serious she told me to go home, change into something more appropriate (I was dressed up nicely for job hunting, not cleaning tanks), and get back there as soon as I could. 30 minutes later I was gainfully employed, and within 6 months I had been promoted to general manager. That lead to a position as assistant manager at a much larger store, which lead to a promotion to inventory control manager, which eventually lead to my current job as buyer and manager of famous (at least among beer geeks) retail store.

Had I not made that joke and capitalized on her response, I probably would have ended up back in the kitchen 40-50 hours a week, and I'm positive my life would have progressed down a completely different path.

tl;dr: a random errand to buy crickets set me down the path to an awesome career getting paid to buy, sell, and talk about beer all day.

Propane brewers, does anyone used a propane gauge to see how much gas is left? by FCBMessiahin Homebrewing

[–]hopstar 3 points4 points ago

Are you talking about the little magnets that go on the side of the tank, or an actual mechanical gauge? The actual gauges seem like overkill to me, but they're more accurate than the magnets. If you have a digital scale at home you're already set. Weigh the empty tank before you go get it filled, weigh it again when it's full, and then use some simple math to figure out how much fuel is left in the tank.

After you've brewed a batch make a note of how much fuel (weight) you lost during the boil. This will give you a rough estimate as to how many batches you can brew before needing a refill. One word of caution: don't cut it too close. Windy conditions and variable air temperatures can impact your fuel consumption, and it sucks running out of propane 45 minutes into the boil.

I'm going to guess you're in your early 20's, and that whether or not you realize it you're feeling the external pressure to "do something with your life." You need to step back and realize that you can't simply become a successful, valued member of society overnight, and that focusing on the end result while ignoring the steps that lead you there may be overwhelming.

This may sound cliche, but it works: sit down with a pen and paper, and write down the things you enjoy doing in life. Once you have a list of things you're truly passionate about, consider which of those might make for a viable, enjoyable career. Work backwards from there.

Say you want to be a doctor; well, you'll need a degree from med school. Before that, you need to be accepted into med school and pass it. In order to pull that off you need to make it through 4 years of undergrad with a high enough GPA that you'll be accepted to said medical school. You need to pass all your freshman classes before you worry about what's coming up in your sophomore, junior, or senior years. In order to qualify for classes next semester, you need to do well on the pre-reqs this semester. Ultimately, all that matters is that one semester right in front of you. On an even smaller scale than that, all that really matters is that you get up, go to class, and study every day this week.

Once you've established what your ultimate long term goal is can start breaking it down into manageable sub goals. Create a (realistic) timeline for accomplishing each goal and post it someplace where you'll see it every day so that when you start becoming overwhelmed or filled with self doubt over your ability to achieve your long term goal you can give your brain a reality check.

It also helps to establish a proportional rewards for completing various goals. Start with small rewards for your immediate goals, and plan out larger rewards for the major accomplishments. For example, treat yourself to a nice meal (whether it's home cooked or at a restaurant) every Friday as a reward for getting to work/class on time all week. Buy a new video game as a reward for getting A's on all your mid terms. Plan a trip to Europe as a reward for getting your bachelor's degree, etc...

Lastly, to throw a wrench in everything I just said, don't be so tightly focused on your goals that you miss out on the new experiences and random possibilities that life throws your way. When I was in my 20's I imagined myself becoming a computer programmer, but I realized during my junior year that I didn't want to sit in a cubicle all day and stare at lines of code. I became very depressed and listless, and probably would have written a post almost identical to yours had Reddit existed at the time. I dropped out of college figuring that it didn't make sense to incur debt for something I didn't want, and decided to get a full time job to make ends meet while I figured out what I wanted to do with my life.

Through a series of seemingly unrelated (at the time) jobs I met various people who shaped who I would become, and I started discovering what my passions were. Fast forward ten years, and now I have an awesome career doing something I love, in a field I never would have guessed had you asked me at age 22. I get paid well, I live within walking distance of my office, and my opinions/knowledge are respected and sought out by people in my industry.

I am desperate to stop smoking...3 days in and I just slipped up, HOW do I give up? by sherbytumblein AskReddit

[–]hopstar 0 points1 point ago

You could get pregnant again. ;)

On a serious note, find ways to distract yourself from the cravings and/or oral fixations. I bought a huge bag of sugar free lolly pops to suck on when I had cravings, and they were a tremendous help. It also helps to have a longer-term goal/reward in mind. It occurred to me that I was spending close to $1,100/year on cigs, so I decided if I could go 6 months without smoking I would allow myself to spend $500 on a weekend out of town. Whenever the cravings hit I simply kept telling myself that lighting up would cost me my mini vacation.

It gets really cool once you start building up some of the other powers, and the grinding on power lines and train tracks mechanic is pretty sweet. Oh, and the fully upgraded Thunder Drop is a friggin amazing crowd control power. Jump off a building, hold square (IIRC), and watch people get blasted into the air around you.

With enough practice, you can beat that game with one life in about 25-28 minutes. My friends and I in college used to use Contra as a "delivery timer." If the driver arrived with our food before we finished the game, he received an extra big tip.
