I swear this is 95% of people who critisize my dietary choice by MadamMudkipin vegetarian

Give this stuff a shot. I overloaded on it in college. It's delicious, just as good as ice cream, amazing texture, and I believe entirely vegan.

I'm not vegan, but I'm trying to cut down on dairy. I don't do milk anymore, but I just haven't been able to quit cheese, because frankly, vegan cheese substitutes taste like ass, and I've tried many. Once somebody gets that right, I'll be fine.

I have had a positive influence on my mother's parents (not really anybody else though), and I'm really glad about that. They now consume far less meat, and have even taken to eating some meat substitutes like chik pea patties or garden burgers. My next plan is to get them to try almond/coconut milk, which usually tastes better than cow's milk in cereal or oatmeal and isn't full of dead white blood cells and weird hormones. Ugh.

Edit: My grandfather (mom's dad) has heart disease, so alternatives to red meat are critical to his health. I plug all kinds of things to him, some of them take, some of them don't, but I at least believe I'm helping him widen his knowledge and therefore expand his options.

I think struggling for protein is definitely a common experience for the beginner vegetarian, but after getting into it, you realize the "hurr, you need protein!" criticisms from meat eaters are 100% bullshit. There are a million flavorful, healthful protein-rich alternatives to flesh. Anyway, I sympathize; I get hit with this garbage every so often. Even from family. ಠ_ಠ

Amen to that. "Lock it" away from her consciousness? That bullshit might make sense if you were a Freudian trying to evaluate the emotional life of an autistic three year old. However, this whole thing is a Nurse Ratched situation, AT BEST. Terrifying.

Oh, sure, I agree. I don't have any idea what January Jones is like in real life, of course. I don't need to know. I was just musing. Maybe she's a bitch, maybe she's a sweetheart. I think she does a great job playing Betty. Even though Betty has a shallow mind, I still think she's just about as emotionally complicated as the other characters. I know nothing about the actress herself, except that I have always thought she is a great beauty.

The guy who slept with my wife while I was in jail is on his way to my house so we "can talk." by helpmewithstuffpleasin AskReddit

[–]honeytrap 3 points4 points ago

Listen to me. Walk away. Your wife and your best friend, given only what you've told us, have betrayed you. Do you want to go back to jail? What good would this do you, what good would this do any of you? You've learnt a lesson here. You had an unfaithful wife, and this man was not your best friend. Respect yourself enough to take the high road.

[–]honeytrap 4 points5 points ago

Leave it. You've just incriminated yourself. If you were to do this, they would find this post, and you would go right back to jail. While I don't condone this man's behavior, he is not the one whose responsibility it was to honor your marriage: that belongs to your wife. That said, please don't dream up a plan about how you can beat the shit out of your wife and then ask us to advise you on how to get away with it.

She's perfectly vapid, though. Betty's an airhead, and January expresses that very effectively.

How do you know January Jones isn't a bitch? I'm not saying she is, but do you have inside information? A couple years back the kid who plays Bobby basically said January IS a bitch in real life. I agree about her good looks though. JJ is a once in a generation stunner. In my opinion, Megan doesn't hold a candle to Betty. She doesn't even hold a candle to fat Betty, strictly referring to looks.

Our 9 month old is hospitalised with GI stasis and head-tilt :( by camasonin Rabbits

Yes, I occasionally give simethicone (0.5ml) also in a preventative capacity when I can see that he is feeling a little bit off. Since stress can bring on one of his gas episodes, and I was moving him into a new habitat this past week, I gave him simethicone once every 12 hours or so for two days. I am convinced it warded off another episode.

Hey torontorabbits, just wanted to let you know that your advice was comforting and effective! Samuel is all better now, peeing normally and adjusting well to his new home. Thank you and everybody else for your kind counsel and concern. :)

My bunny has had three or four gas-induced episodes of stasis. He's just a gassy boy, and we do our best to minimize that, but it happens. Each time, he's recovered from very well from his stasis in a day or two. Each time, our route (under vet care/advisement) has been Critical Care force feedings (I hated it, but they work), one or two doses of pain meds, belly massages, and lots of tender love and care. I know nothing is certain, but with good care your baby has excellent chances. Even if that head tilt turns out to be permanent, she can still live a happy and rewarding life. I've seen plenty of bunnies who adjust and and get right back to living. All my hope and wishes for her recovery. <3

17 years of smoking, Stops today. by PauseBackin stopsmoking

[–]honeytrap 2 points3 points ago

I PROMISE you can do this. I struggled for six months to quit. One day about six weeks ago, I just said "fuck this". I even posted here during my initial -- and failed -- attempt to stop. I know a lot of people recommend cold turkey, but I'd like to tell you that nicotine patches have made my recovery from smoking possible. I'm on my last month of patches and I feel very confident that when I'm done with those, I'll be done with nicotine for life. These six weeks have been important to me because every time I refused a temptation, it went a little toward the way of breaking the HABIT. The habit, the psychological state that you are in as a smoker is, imo, the thing that is hard to defeat. I'm used to not smoking again. I don't feel like a smoker. In these mere six weeks, much about my health has already gotten better. When I used to take a deep breath, I'd have pain; now I don't. I don't get winded going up a flight of stairs or climbing a big hill. I have acid reflux and that has been eased quite a bit by not sucking smoke all day. I have a minor case of eczema and THAT has gotten better already. Even down to my face; I don't look so ashy and drawn now. There is color in my cheeks again. You might stumble, you might get cranky, you might get angry, and you might get depressed. The shitty moods that come with giving this up are just part of the territory, and they pass as well. As to your family, I'd wager just about anything that they will be so happy and relieved that you are quitting, they'll have little problem putting up with some pissy mood swings.

PS: My dad smoked for thirty years. He quit 4 or 5 years ago and hasn't looked back. It doesn't matter how long you've been at it, quitting will improve and maybe save your life. I wish you complete success. And if you ever want to RAGE and need a sounding board and you feel like your family and friends don't understand, PM me anytime, because I do understand.

You're cute and you seem really nice. Leave that nose alone. Not everybody blows their load over bridgeless button noses, just sayin'. I personally like a schnoz with character.

PS: I'm also a girl gamer, and I'm pretty jealous of your rig. Nice set-up.

[–]honeytrap[S] 0 points1 point ago

He CAN pee anywhere in his cage, but he prefers the back right corner always. He also poops there (most of time). Occasionally he'll leave some poops around outside of his cage. It's not a big deal, I just clean it up when he does it. He never, ever pees outside the cage. I do leave hay around his bathroom corner so he can eat while he goes to the bathroom. He does like to do that. :)

Yes, he has two wonderful small animal specialists. He has a main doctor and a secondary doctor working out of the same practice. He seems to be feeling a-okay, but a little bit disoriented, like you said. He is doing some good things. For example, he is hanging out in there right now when he doesn't have to. His door is wide open and he chose to hop into the house. He slept in there earlier, and like I said, has no issue with drinking, eating, or pooping in there, and is showing no signs of pain or lethargy. He's still his spunky self, except he doesn't quite know what to make of this situation and appears to not want to pee. I'm really crossing my fingers so I can just see some pee soon and then finally exhale.

Thank you very, very much for your help and advice. I will take your suggestion and keep an eye on this tonight and if I don't see any pee by the morning, I will call his doctor.

Well, I'm a girl, so not having a prostate is working out very well for me thus far.

My ex-boyfriend used to stick a finger in my butt during sex. It wasn't 'bad', but it didn't do anything for me either. I don't have a prostate though, so, a dude with a digit in his bum could potentially have a much better experience.

Edit: I'm a girl.

Turning 20 rage. by HardToBeatRichardin TrollXChromosomes

[–]honeytrap 0 points1 point ago

Well, we differ in perspective. I think some feelings are stupid and I think some feelings are insightful. I didn't say this girl is stupid, but I think these feelings are. I'm not saying I didn't worry about my future at twenty, sure I did. I've pondered the future frequently. I imagine I've done that since I knew what 'future' meant. However, it has not occurred to me to do anything before I "get too old". I think feeling distressed because you need to be MARRIED by x age, and you need to HAVE A BABY by x age is silly and, frankly, backward.

Furthermore, if you think having kids means the end of fun, that you'd better get all the fun out of the way before you have those babies, what the fuck is going on? If it hasn't occurred to a woman that fun and child-rearing can go hand in hand, I think it's probably prudent to put down one's ovarian concerns and maybe spend a little time thinking about why you even want children in the first place.

An abandoned chapel I found in the woods [OC] [2.990×1.121] by HurricaneWeaselin AbandonedPorn

[–]honeytrap 0 points1 point ago

Forgive me if someone has already suggested this, but it may be an abandoned Christian shrine. A religious group in my state built a shrine that looks quite a lot like this, on a spot where a woman from that religious group had a vision of the Virgin Mary. There may have been a statue in the center of this building before it was abandoned, a place for candles, and a very small area for a few people to pray. Could be way off, but looks too small even to have been a private chapel of a former landowner.

Edit: The shrine in my state is also a private shrine, so if it were to be abandoned, almost nobody who wasn't somehow associated with this particular Catholic religious group would know to look for it.
