My mother is in another state, getting her fourth surgery since she returned from Iraq. I wanted to give her a surprise when she got home. Bummer. There are some pretty cheap places to stay here. Driving wouldn't be too hard. I drove out to New Orleans about 2 months ago for a weekend. (I think that's what you mean by NOLA...)
