TROPHY CASE

Beta-test my mbti quiz by hawkxorin mbti

[–]hawkxor[S] 0 points1 point ago

I think if you don't have a clear answer you should just skip it.

There's nothing fundamental about this particular question or any of them, they just correlate with different types.

I'd like to answer what is more important, between inner tendency and what you actually do, but in truth it can be a little fuzzy between those two concepts.

in the case of meditation I think that is probably true.

Thanks. I think INFPs and ENFPs are often hard for external observers to tell apart.

INFPs are usually fairly good at typing as INFPs :d, although I think some INFP guys type as INTP. I am interested in making it multilingual - maybe I will come back and ask here about that, once I'm done with the next set of questions. Thanks for mentioning that!

Specific to an INFP, I would expect that introverted feeling and sensing work really well in unison; for one I've heard that vivid memories and the associated feelings are very mixed up together internally.

Best bet of the day. by pminkinin pics

Is this a joke? DudeGetReal is factually wrong, and really annoying as well. Of course it's possible to make money by betting at sports books, but actually betting "against the casino" you are betting against other people because the price and spread are ultimately determined by the market.

Some people win, some people lose, and the casino generally wins. And it's a plain fact that there are professional gamblers who make money in the long run off of sports betting, although it's obviously less profitable than, say, running a successful hedge fund.

I haven't studied it that much; cultural differences would be interesting. My approach differs from the traditional approaches though. As long as my data is reliable, it's ok if the questions aren't that well written; they could even be testing for the opposite of what was initially intended.

Your answers are fine; basically, I'm still working on it.

Looking at the INFP ordering, notice that they alternate between i and e. Also, since F (a judgment function) is first, the two middle functions are both perception functions (N and S), and T (the other judgment function) is last.

Those are basically the two constraints. If you think about this enough, it makes a lot of sense, but I wasn't sure how much I should expand on that in the explanation.

The percentages are how likely the test thinks you are to be each particular type.

I looked this up. In this particular case I think my algorithm was being a bit screwy. I am still in the process of developing the math; your answers do seem ENTJ to me.

I can understand why you have these opinions, however I'm quite certain of most of these, I typed them using a very diligent and holistic approach. It's not based on what they commonly are known for, and not based on how I think they would respond to a test (the tests themselves are not that accurate).

Of the above you listed, I would ask you for example to study Miyazaki some more. He is clearly Ne and Si, and INFPs will commonly share dreams stories with a similar kind of imagination as Miyazaki. Maybe you had a relationship with an INFP at some point or something? However, the F in Miyazaki films is quite simplistic, and very Fe in intent. Watch an interview and you'll see that he is an introverted thinker.

I'm not entirely sure how to prove my opinions without writing a thesis about each person, but I do understand what it means for something to be speculation and something to be true and known. I don't think I am close to infallible on this, but I am certain that my list is significantly more accurate than the other ones out there, which are often less than 50% accurate and based on some very naive principles.

Thanks, this is useful feedback. I was kind of aware of the ambiguity of the skip button but I didn't have plans to fix that.

If you skip, that question will just be disregarded and you'll get a new question. The test uses a bank of questions (it has many more than 25 to pick from).

Cool, thanks! I have plans to improve this over the next few months as well.

I heard that from somebody else, so apparently it doesn't work on Safari. I tested it on my iPhone and it worked though, so that's a bit odd.

EDIT: this issue should be fixed now.

Right now, I think I'm pretty weak with the S vs N questions. I've seen other INTJs type as ISTJs. In response to hmwith above, I've also seen other ENFPs (including my mom) type as ENTPs. The E vs I and J vs P questions are better.

My basic strategy to improve this is with a greater variety of questions and more data to go into the system. The math could use some work too, but I can only take that so far.

Beta-test my mbti quiz by hawkxorin mbti

[–]hawkxor[S] 2 points3 points ago

I understand what you're saying. Something I'm not making clear there is that it's supposed to represent the "core value" of the type. I think it's fair to say the ENTP's core value is creativity even if they aren't necessarily artistic. I'm going to try to improve the content side of the site though.

I agree - it's difficult to add questions because I need to collect a lot of data on them. But the next batch of questions will swing away from the "traditional" myers-briggs questions and hopefully be better in this respect. Thanks!

most "nutjob financial academics" believe a weaker form of the EMH, that you can't make money in the market on average, except by luck. by equating this to P=NP that paper isn't really proving anything. i'd phrase it more as, anything tractably computable is already compute.

the above version is still wrong though, due to the paradox of information, if the markets were so efficient that nobody can make money on the market so it's not worth their time to research companies and trade, then how did it get so efficient in the first place? in reality you can make money by decreasing the cost of acquiring information in the markets, and this can be done in several ways.

the EMH basically just explains why you shouldn't buy dunkin donuts stock just because you like donuts.
