Hi Kevin: whatever happened to the guy who played Olaf in Clerks - he didn't appear in Clerks 2. But he was a winner in the first film I thought.

Thanks, I guess what you are saying is that the American Dream is as popular as it ever was.

OK, can someone please explain why the Republicans think this guy, with all these views, is in any way electable (I'm not American). He wants to slash welfare, cut wages, deny health cover, not just to poor people but also to America's shrinking middle class. The only people who would benefit from his policies are millionaires and corporations: but corporations can't vote and there aren't that many millionaires. Yet he will need the votes of about half the people in the US to become president. I really don't get it. Who's going to vote for him? The phrase "turkeys voting for Christmas" comes to mind if they do.

Love to know your source for the 99%. I bet you just made it up. Also, there are already all sorts of restrictions to protect people from harm/exploitation: food laws that stop food manufacturers from adulterating their products; drug laws; minimum wage laws that stop employers paying starvation wages ...it's a fairly long list actually.

For the same reasons as society makes any of its other restrictions on individual freedom in order to protect vulnerable people.

Because it's usury, and many countries (including the US, but not the UK) have laws prohibiting it.

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

It's not a news piece, it's comment, and therefore based by its very nature. Also, sticking your fingers in your ears and saying nyar nyar I can't hear you is INCREDIBLY juvenile.
