I would say try different jewelry. Get a decent set of glass plugs. Get a pair of the colorfronts from body art forms. The are smaller and less likely to get caught on something. You really don't want to wear pinchers while you sleep (or at all). They tend to only be used for stretching, kind of like tapers. I would hate to see your ears damaged from being ripped out at night. Good luck!
