I meant "you" as in the collective "you" which includes "they", referring to waiters. You're either a very good troll or a very stupid person.

You're living in candyland. Waiters get paid off tips, and you're not making $15/hr at KFC.

I'm sure the driver wouldn't mind in the least. Less trouble for him.

The Federal minimum wage was $5.15 for the longest time.

"The federal minimum wage is $6.55 per hour effective July 24, 2008; and $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009"

If it's the same waiter they'll remember you. And they'll tell all the other waiters (at their restaurant and any others they see you at) about you as well.

I bet you're one of those people that wonders why you get bad service everywhere you go.

It is not "against the law or something". Most restaurants will add a 15-20% gratuity if you have 6 or more people in your party. This is to keep cheapskates from stiffing the tip.

Of course alcohol counts! Do you not tip your bartender?

Most places where I live don't pool tips. If you're a good tipper and frequent a restaurant, the waiters will fight over who gets to serve you.

While I respect your professionalism in not expecting your waiter to be your entertainment, what makes you nervous about tipping and conversing with the waitstaff? Obviously your waiter doesn't want you playing 20 questions or to tell you their life story, but there is no reason to treat them like servants.

Which is exactly what makes it suck when you get stiffed on a tip. You end up losing money in more ways than one.

Actually that's very uncommon where I'm at. By the way, chiefs belong on the police force and in the military, not in the kitchen.

It is not tax-free. You still have to report something.

I get annoyed at all the tip jars springing up at coffee shops and such. They get paid an hourly wage that is greater than or equal to minimum wage, waiters don't. Around here they make like $2.13/hr. I'm not tipping someone just for pouring a cup of coffee. That's insane.

"Blizzard Entertainment refused Boll's request to make a World of Warcraft adaptation; Boll said, "I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, 'We will not sell the movie rights, not to you... especially not to you.'"[17]"

Bless you, Blizzard.
