I've got some old AFX track, controllers, and 'stadium', as well as some HO (I think) train track (a couple boxes in total) if anyone would like them. Free. by guyanonymousin VictoriaBC

Well, even if you can't set it up until the future - you're welcome to it...if it was organized you could probably fit it all in a file box or two (the AFX stuff).

The Wonder Book of <stereotypes of> Children of All Nations by guyanonymousin bookshelf

I picked this book up years ago, loving the art on the cover and the subject matter, though the book fully embraces every stereotype around in the late 19th Century.

Here's a link to the inside of the back cover...look close to see if you can find the most offensive characterization there.

I think that someone needs to make an app to let you randomly (and purposely) assemble user generated packs of these...think slot machine style.

Are there any 2012/34.x applications that allow for easy editing of dwarf attributes? I realize there were some in the past that haven't been updated, but I'm hoping there is at least one out there (for Windows) that someones cobbled together...thanks! by guyanonymousin dwarffortress

[–]guyanonymous[S] 0 points1 point ago

That's the one I keep wishing would get updated.... I thought about cheat engine, and I guess I could try to modify a few dwarves that way...I'm just lazy and wanted a pretty push button :D

I'm up in Canada, though I spent several of my childhood years in the states.

My interactions have all been positive (other than those darn speeding tickets) with the exception of an 'Oak Bay' cop when I was 17 who just wanted to yell at someone for a bit. I've known a few officers over the years, though not well, and they were all pretty nice if a bit overenthused by guns the gym and action movies. Where I live, sleepy Victoria, BC, (high older population) the militarization hasn't become totally obvious evident yet, but we get the full onslaught from the media from Vancouver and beyond, and down South in the US, and that influences how the 'youth' (30 and under) are increasingly seeing the police.

This is so much better than the other way round - now I don't imagine I'm eating some bruised, rotting strawberry the chef covered in chocolate to save money.

No, I'm not.

I don't have anything against the police as a concept, it's just how they are being used as a military arm against the people who's safety and rights they are supposed to protect.

There was a photo posted, from the German occupy march, yesterday; Instead of pointing their guns at the marchers, they put them away, took off their helmets, and marched with them...peace was kept, people had their say...seems like a better solution to me...and the officers there probably felt more a part of their community - and the protesters saw them as people more clearly instead of automatons - than they had in a long time...
