I see your Bulgarian prom and raise you a Ukrainian fashion show [NSFW] by LifeFantasticin WTF

[–]guignoleyes 0 points1 point ago

I'm just waiting for someone to open my door while I look through these, and when they ask what the hell I'm looking at, I'm just going to slowly turn to look at them, and with the most deadpan expression possible, say "Fashion."

That's a good idea! I really don't want Lily Blossom, but I just had to collect them all. If I was skilled enough to give it a try, I don't know who I'd turn her into.

I find it annoying when people are overly preachy about not drinking, too. Although I agree with a sober life, but I think there's no need to go around telling people they're living their life wrong unless it's an actual problem, where it affects other people.

My close friends are very understanding about how I feel about it, and if we're out and they want to drink, they make sure I'm okay with it because that means I'm usually the only sober person. I don't tell my friends they can't drink, though, because I know it's not fair to them if I act that way since it's their choice to drink, and they never get wasted around me anyway.

The only person I've ever been confrontational with about drinking is my dad, who is a full-on alcoholic in denial, but for my friends who do drugs and drink on small scale (which is like what you do, weekend parties and whatnot), I don't have a problem with since most of the time they do so when I'm not around.

I'm glad you respect people who don't drink, and I certainly don't think less of people who are just casual in their drinking. But the extremes on both sides are equally annoying.

Not saying he's an alcoholic or anything, just that he's questioning why people do things like drugs to have fun when he does the same by drinking.

I had a conversation with a coworker and regular at work about two weeks ago. The regular was trying to engage us in a conversation about how he didn't really understand why kids these days do drugs. I basically said "for the same reason people drink. Because they get something out of it, but not everyone understands or agrees with the so-called benefits."

He laughed and told me I didn't understand, and that when I was old enough to drink (which is less than 2 months away...) I would have a better understanding. Of course, I don't think he quite saw how hypocritical he was being, especially since he and his wife come into the bar twice a week every week. My coworker, who I know to do drugs and drink, quickly took his side and said that it was fun to drink and party, even just to relax or loosen up a little.

I outright told them I am a sober person. I don't believe in drinking or recreational drugs. It's what I believe in, because alcoholism runs in my family and I've seen them at their worst from being drunk off their asses--from slipping in dog shit to hitting their children--and it's not how I want to live my life. And let me note, I know not all drinkers are like that. But unfortunately this is what I've been subjected to within my family.

Normally I don't mind terribly if people talk about partying/drinking with me since it's usually them telling me some story from a party, but that conversation really made me mad because they were trying to convince me that I was too "naive" on the subject. They make their lifestyle choices, and I make mine. I'm not hurting anyone by not drinking, so why do they feel like they need to convince me to change if I'm not telling them to?

I work at a sports bar where pets are allowed on the outside eating area. We keep a couple dog-food bowls in the kitchen just for customer's pets to drink and (sometimes, if a customer orders for them) eat out of :)

suggestions for my marceline costume, anyone? I originally did this as a quick halloween costume and I'd like to improve it. by faileddentistsin adventuretime

[–]guignoleyes 0 points1 point ago

I like it but if you do want to add anything, I would suggest blue skin. Try liquidlatex.com. I've bought from them and they're very good and not terribly expensive at all. For Marceline's blue/grey skintone, you should probably use flourescent blue. 16 oz should do fine for your costume.

It's my best friend's birthday tomorrow and she loves Adventure Time! Are there any awesome AT birthday cards out there?? by KlaudioKilin adventuretime

[–]guignoleyes 0 points1 point ago

I've never seen any AT birthday cards, but I haven't really looked before. But looking around online, it looks like there's not really much.

http://www.redbubble.com/shop/adventure+time+greeting-cards

Redbubble has a few, but I think you have to purchase and have them ship through the mail, and I don't know if you'd want to do that on such short notice.

If you'd like, I'm sure there are some people who'd be willing to lend a hand in making a printable card for you ahem I'd be willing to try for you no probs ahem

My reaction to someone touching my computer screen by LordCatfishcityin funny

Yes.

My parents can, without fail, always avoid touching their screens when pointing at something for me to look at, but they seem to lose their depth perception when they're within a 2-foot radius of my computer.

Today a girl at my work picked up a newspaper and brought up Obama's message about supporting gay rights. She started out innocently enough just saying he was probably just doing it to "get the gay vote" but then she opened the article to a picture of two men hugging and said "Look at these faggots."

My jaw nearly hit the floor.

I mean, we were at work. I understand everyone has an opinion, but you can't just say that sort of thing out loud in a place of business!

I work as a hostess, and usually do the night shifts which start at 4 or 5. So it's more of a lunch/dinner when I eat before work.

That sucks. I've never forgotten about anything I was cooking long enough to let it be ruined like that, but back when they made these I practically lived off them, and one time I forgot to add water... it only took a few seconds before I realized what I had done, but almost instantly the noodles burned and the house stank of it. My family said they could smell it a block away when they were coming home.

I'm pretty sure people like me were the reason they stopped making them.
