Spot on. The jeweler seems worth it. Blacksmith? Nope.

I'm sure it will be worth it later in nightmare and hell, but at the moment (normal and early nightmare) the AH gives more for the Small amounts of gold you get.

I'm planning on putting an SSD into my new laptop, and using the HDD as storage. What steps can I take now (on the HDD) to make the transition easier? by NewlySouthernin windows

[–]glisignoli 0 points1 point ago

For the love of god, if you haven't purchased that SSD yet check google to see if their are any "faults" with it. I had a OCZ Vertex 2 die a couple of weeks ago and it made me sad.

Update the firmware (if possible) on the SSD as soon as you get it.

Gold gold gold gold. Crafting items doesn't seem to be worth it at the moment. Specially when you can buy items from the auction house.

I've a couple of these. All of them were related to pass through. If your doing it buy passing the usb controller to the guest machine then thats likely the case. If you configure the guest with a virtual usb controller, then add the device to the guess you might have better luck.

Well I'm sure it is. I've made some modifications to a debian cd. Not really the same things though.

You use it to check for faulty cable run's between your client and server.

Unplug cable from both ends. Attach the "emitter" on one end and the terminator on the other end. Now with your tracer you just follow down the length of wire. The trace will make some sort of noise continually unless the cable is broken.

Pretty much how all the movie theaters work in New Zealand now. I've never had a problem with it until now.

Survey Confirms That IT Administrators Are Too Stressed Out. by willies_hatin sysadmin

I'm working in a "team" of 6 it staff.

One of them is the office support dude so he's busy helping users.

One of them is on an intranet project to setup sharepoint for our 2000 users on his own, though he seems fairly lazy.

Another has be made to look after some "going forward" projects.

Just hired a new staff member who only wants to use guis.

Lastly we have the only two linux gurus in the company. My workmate is going on holiday for two weeks. She needs it.

Im left with developing our new squeeze rollout (which includes setting up puppet, webmin, samba, apache, bacula, exim, cyrus and hundreds of in house developed scripts which im planning to audit and move to wedmin/usermin) as well as supporting the existing etch environment, handling support escalations (3 or so a day), supporting technicians with server builds and backups, supporting 2busuness critical applications and many more less critical ones and helping around the office. Stress? Yeah sure I'll think about that when i have time.

Where do u work? A noisy as fuck open planned office.

Feel free to say that i should be automating stuff. I'd love to start on that at some time.

Ldap and Ad don't mix well. Our company managed setup some software (which I'm really sorry I can't remember) and it solved our problems. Began with F I think.
