The Republicans and Democrats have both been marching further and further right (toward all-out authoritarian corporatocracy) my entire life. There's no sign that this trend won't continue.

Let me guess, less than 25 years old? And age that places you in the better part of a strong conservative swing (1970-2010) after a massively strong progressive swing (1940-1970). This is how it works whether you believe it or not; these swings swing back and forth every 40 years.

You mean other than the hundreds of years worth of American history that show over and over how our country vacillates on a pendulum between conservative and progressive eras?

Nothing will change unless people decide to break their ties with these corporate-controlled, warhappy parties.

if you actually support democracy, justice, peace, and egalitarianism, you should be supporting the Green Party.

Yep, there it is. My only choice.

So how do I support these third parties that do nothing but prop up Presidential candidates and completely ignore local and state politics where they could actually build their brand and become legitimate? No one votes for them because no one trusts them to govern. if these movements, these 3rd parties were serious, they'd work locally to get a foothold. But that's too hard.

Democracy like ours is a slow slog of change and this current era is nothing new.
