Great tracks, personal favourites that blew my mind are Assymetry of the Eternal Amber by Dyph, and Cut that shit by Nickstaysfresh... also enjoyed a lot Sea Of Tranquility by captainsplendid!

Wouldn't it be better to eq each layer channel instead of just one eq for the grouping layer? I mean if you stack up 3-4 kicks or snares you will always have some interfering frequencies...

I'd provide my project for the willing, but it's a fl studio 10 project with lots of external VST's which I am currently trying, and they're basically on every channel so if you don't have them it will sound like crap :)

However if there are some questions regarding my tune, I'll be more than happy to answer them.

Well, I hope you will participate in the february competition... I'm glad you liked the samples, would be great if they inspired you to do a track. Btw thanks for the feedback, I was actually more satisfied with the lighter parts of the track, that you find dissonant, but in general I'm not happy with the end result... I guess the shit in one's personal life reflects on one's music making abilities :) Or I was just too lame this time... Anyhow thanks for your constructive criticism.

great tracks :) really enjoyed samsara, viewing point, procrastinate the future, robot deathchant and the track from rxi as well but altogether I found all tracks really cool. Great job everyone! Looking forward to the next competition.

I'm glad you like them. The female vocal is sang by Marie Keyrouz, the album is called Byzantine Chant. Awesome track btw, congrats on first place!

Congrats to Quant32 for the killer track, and thanks a lot for 2nd place! I am really flattered, given the fact that this month there have been more submissions and lots of excellent tracks. So congratulations everyone on the good job, I will try to get the sample pack ready ASAP, if you have any suggestions PM me or do it in the thread, cause I am really confused what type of samples to include.

I am using these, in addition to the usb interface they have direct input with 2 1/4 jacks. As the audio interface is only 16bit, I am using another soundcard that supports 24bit connected through the 1/4 jacks... I am quite satisfied with the sound, but they are my first monitors so I cannot quite compare them to anything else.

Dat ist Duisburg was the only thing that came up as I was thinking about a description of the subreddit. Sauerland is fine, there are constantly some petitions to remove him from office but apparently unsuccessful so far.
