The Gen-X Nostalgia Boom - NYTimes.com by futurestormsin GenX

[–]futurestorms[S] 0 points1 point ago

I found this, because my SO manages and buys for a retail store, and she let me know that grunge is back 'in.' My reaction was muddled at best. I see these millenials walking around in clothes that you nor i, would've never worn in the seventies or eighties. The cyclical nature of trends was pretty well explained in the article, and i wanted to share. I loved the idea that we, gen x, would shrug off the idea of being 'bought out' again and keep being the bad asses that we are.

Sorry to hear of your difficulties. Can i suggest calling and/or seeing your pediatrician as soon as you can? They may shed some light and help calm your concerns. Good luck!

The scene in the desert at the pool is hilarious. The giant crab was a good gag.

An excellent film. On a personal note, this was the first DVD i ever watched. That just added to the beauty of the production.

The sex and violence album was created during a lot of turmoil with the BDP crew. Songs were owned by both the blastmaster and everyone else. Thus the distinction.

Census: Minorities now surpass whites in US births by BlankVersein news

[–]futurestorms 0 points1 point ago

I'm trying to wrap my head around this 'minority' or even 'race' based statistic. We are all human, aren't we? I am lighter due to my ancestors being farther from the sun than other darker humanoids, whom thrived in a more equatorial climate. How is one a minority if we all came from the same place? Is there a cultural link here?

I would use Wall-E. The communication between robots is without human language, but sound and inference. It could be an interesting concept to bring forward in your class.

The Next Star Trek Series... by neoteotihuacanin startrek

[–]futurestorms 5 points6 points ago

The only two things i have to add to this is: How about a series that picks up where DS9 left off. I am not discounting Voyager in any way, but there was still much more to draw upon, even with DS9's epic finale. The other is that I recently re watched the movie 'Trekkies' and one of the producers stated that they always take and consider fan scripts and suggestions, as long as it's not packets of travel brochures or postcards of what a fan had for lunch! How about a series using the cream of the crop and succinct to the series fan scripts? Thanks.

Anyone else really like the Clive Barker movie Nightbreed? by theycallmebugin movies

I would love to see Weaveworld in movie form. I think the cgi technology could really do it justice. How about Terry Gilliam as director?
