Utorrent is saying I've never downloaded anything. Can anyone help?(sorry is wrong sub-reddit) by TenderDurdenin torrents

[–]fufighter 0 points1 point ago

If you keep all your torrent files you can go to preferences \ directories. Configure all the folder settings. dump your existing download folder in the "put new downloads in", dump all your torrents files in to "automatically load .torrents from", restart utorrent and it will readd all your torrents. You will lose your existing stats and labels. If you're concerned with labels quickly highlight all torrents and hit stop, set your labels and restart all the torrents. Hope that made sense.

edit (if anyone still cares): I don't know how to link pages but the relevant part is located at the "Usability and upside down connectors" section. also it appears manufacturers don't like to play by the rules, western digital being one of them

If you never won the Stanley Cup, would you have extended your NHL career for a couple more years?

Stopping a scheduled SCCM advertisement by fufighterin sysadmin

[–]fufighter[S] 0 points1 point ago

I am only concerned people who power down their computers before I got the cancellation order. I cleared the targeted collection and disabled the advertisement. Everyone who left their computers on overnight did not get the package installed. people who took their laptops home or powered off their machines at night were affected.

I think this is the best solution, though some workstations can still fall in the cracks if their sessions were suspended or hibernated.

Even better would be to have the cancellation notice given at minimum 2 hours before the end of the day, though that is usually outside of my control

It is critical that the advertisement is not deleted, as you then lose your only handle on controlling the distribution of the package - machines that have already seen the job will still attempt to execute it in this scenario.

This is important, we actually have our install script generate an additional install log to a share as well.

Create a new program / script / whatever to reverse the actions of the advertisement for those that did get through.

Fortunately in my case this was a small package that installs in a couple minutes and a roll back isn't critical. As for end user experience, they would require a reboot as the installer kills a service that needs to be restarted. This was pretty much a fire drill. some donkey wanted this app in place in a hurry, we set it up and advertised in the morning, send out notices to the affected users, then that same donkey tells us to hold off at 5:30p because he doesn't want his group to have to reboot their computers because they're busy. Naturally by then 20 so people took their computers home or turned it off before we were able to disable the advertisement.

After some testing today, it looks like if a computer has the scheduled advertisement, goes offline until after the scheduled time, there is no way to stop the install within sccm. It looks like the best solution is for a login script to delete the cache folder.

I should add that, this morning about 20 workstations out of 200 ended up getting the package installed, so looking for a more effective method of cancelling scheduled advertisements
