Agreed. Salem has a lot of potential and it's so centrally located to all the wonderful things Oregon has to offer. I always hated it growing up and didn't realize just how awesome it was till I moved away to somewhere much more boring. I really hope some of their effort to revitalize downtown will pay off, such a cool area.

yeah i think it came along with when the banned gloves. they think it's bad for the scene to have kids passed out on the floor getting light shows err something like that. but in my opinion, gloving is quite a bit different. someone tries to sit close and get a light show while i hoop is only gonna get a hoop in their face.

Hmmm my Japanese is not even near perfect. Like I mentioned to someone else, I've been studying 敬語 and I can communicate a fair portion of things I want to say and I imagine that will increase after being there for a month or two. But if I were to apply, I'd be banking on the fact that they want to hire me because I'm an attractive skinny well dress American girl. Also someone linked this interview, gives me hope that my assumptions aren't too outlandish.

I figured as much. We've been studying 敬語 and 謙譲語 the last month or so and definitely plan on polishing it up before I leave.
